Sorry to hear it is still having problems. I am assuming you have looked at the dials to make sure they are in check. It sounds like you need backup!

I have rethreaded it, and rethreaded it, and rethreaded it. I have used the book to do this. I will try again durning nap time this morning but it is not looking good and boy…[Read more]

oh my little boy is a nightmare for touching my machines… just this week i found all my sewing machine feet laid out- and one of them missing!!! not happy jan.
i hope you can get it sorted out… sometimes just sewing on something (if there was a pencil lead or something in there to begin with) which breaks the needles can be enough to send the…[Read more] -

A thought just occurred regarding the needle. Maybe if you take it out and put it back in, it may not be in position right. Sometimes that happens when I have to change mine and they break! Just try it to make sure it is in position correctly.

Thanks Nicole and Tamara! I think that what it is. Two there things were bent as well and hubby fixed them but there is still something off bending the right needle only. (I think perhaps a pencil was put in there) If this doesn’t work I might nbeed some one to fix it, or maybe a new one.

Sharon,I spoke with my husband who has successfully repaired some small problems with my overlocker.
He suggests that you unthread the machine and, with the side open, turn the wheel by hand and see if the bottom looper is bent and catching or bumping into the needles.
If that is the problem, you may be able to gentle bend the looper back, just a wee bit. -

That was my instinct. It’s nice to have it confirmed by someone else, though!
I finished it up last night and I think it will be a hit at Christmas 🙂 -

I don’t have one in front of me, but I’m doing some hand waving , a bit like a Tai Chi manouever, to remind myself how it goes and the answer I’ve come up with is YES. Soft velcro on the same side of the strap as the button. Have fun with it.

I bought it and sized up both the skirt and the top. The top is more complicated but it sized up beautifully. The skirt is only 2 pieces, the skirt which is cut on the fold twice, I think, and the lining which is exactly the same shape as the skirt but 1 inch (or something) shorter. The shape is sort of a curved rectangle. It was very easy to size…[Read more]

Oh, thanks so much for that! I am admittedly more interested in the skirt, and thought i may draft it up myself. Inevitably it will end up in the “TO DO” list that just gets longer & longer.

So I decided to forget about the vertical piping and just did the french seams along those lines (I am using corduroy and even with my very thin shirting for piping it would still have been too bulky I think) and attempted binding the curved bodice seam (but I didn’t really know what I was doing so it’s a little interesting). I LOVE the french…[Read more]
