Swimsuit or bathing suit for swimming, crayons for coloring, and I think I’ll avoid saying ‘dag’ until I’ve spotted it in the wild a few more times, I don’t want to inadvertently offend.
It’s interesting the way meanings change over time, too. Both geek and punk were once things you’d never want to call yourself.

Wow! Too cold for the coat! That would be an experience we here never have! Ususally it is too warm for the coat!
I am up to sewing – yay! Done the front bodices and the back and am in the middle of sewing the hood, just got to trim. Then topstitching and applying the extra bits and pieces.
My aim is to get through the vast majority today – and…[Read more]

I finished Trixie’s Bubble dress up to hand sewing the bodice and buttons/buttonholes. Hugo was studying for exams so her nursed *held* her so I could get stuck in.
I couldn’t finish the sewing as the house was filling with insects. I have no idea how they all got in but they were going for the lights. So annoying as Jed was reaping until 1:30 and…[Read more] -

Justine is spot on with dag.
The dress style of ‘daggy’ is less complimentary, ‘dag’ is more affectionate.A true dag is a product of sheep waste and wool, don’t google image it.
Crayon here.
We now regularly use ‘amaze balls’ and ‘awesome sauce’ in our current vernacular. We call them ‘britterism’s’ from the awesome Brittney.
I definitely use…[Read more]

Robin, the colloquial meaning of ‘dag’ here can mean a few thing – it can describe someone’s dress style (negative), it can refer to an ‘uncool/nerdy type’ person, or it can be used in an affectionate way (also suggesting a nerdy type, but lovingly!). Btw – DO NOT Google it to check it’s more formal meaning 😉
