Lucky ducks, what a super price.
I *may* have already placed an order for them (and for a sewing chum) -

Snap, I am sorting too, but just adding to/taking from tubs. I swopped my clear Ikea tubs over to smoked ones in the hope it will prevent fading.

Coating cut for Hugo’s peacoat, onto the lining.
Sarvi, the culottes would be perfect, what about a Jumprope polo top?

The only super safe way to scrimp is to lay out your pattern. The pieces are quite wide so you may well need your yardage.
I think you are looking for the McScrooge thread 🙂
I will have a look for you. -

I don’t have the pattern yet-debating between digital or printed… Laying it out would have solved my dilemma if I could make any decision. 😛
I’m looking at a solid and have had good luck getting most patterns in a fair bit less yardage than called for, but it doesn’t look like there are many pieces to fiddle with placement. But since an XS-M…[Read more]

I’m afraid I don’t know either but have run into the same issue as miss_sonja — often you need the allowance to be able fit the pieces properly. Are you looking at a solid, or something patterned? Do you have the pattern already? If you do, you could test it out (not cutting out, just laying down the pieces) against another fabric of the same width.

Great ideas for making this a bit easier for a wiggly little one!

@mcholley1 we’ll be sewing twins this week, I just cut out a skirt and top in chambray (linen, does that still count as chambray? it’s a red/white crossweave) and Liberty.
Say, any ideas what to sew for a golfing birthday party? I was thinking Lunchbox tee and culottes.

Sarvi replied to the topic Underlining? in the forum oliver + s: secret agent 10 years ago
I think what’s in that tutorial is effectively a lining, though I get why she’s calling it underlining, as the seams are still exposed. If you did that with flannel, it would be, as you suggest, ‘grabby’. Wonderfully cozy, certainly!

Sigh, it’s that time again … time to figure out what to do with outgrown clothes. Every time there’s a growth spurt I have to figure this out again as though it’s a brand new problem.

I’ll second Brittney. A lot of people swear by a nice pashmina wrap but I’d need a Pendleton blanket at least. I sort of thought the upside to weight gain would be not always being the first to get chilled but no such luck. A cardigan’s a better bet. I think fabric choice for the bistro will be your friend. And hey, here’s your excuse to get some…[Read more]

You would look killer in the Bistro dress with some tights and a cardi.

Long sleeve faux wrap dress, warm tights, appropriatxe shoes (closed with appropriate heel or some lovely knee high boots). Over this I would add a attention grabbing cardigan or wrap/scarf.
Personally it would be a chocholate brown knit faux wrap dress, stretch velvet would be georgeous. Brown tights, knee high boots and a stunning Swoon Neck…[Read more] -
