Just finished some navy courduroy field trip cargos. I’ve remembered how much I like that pattern 🙂 I love all the top stitching!
I’m thinking I’ll make some more elements in the periodic table. Probably H, Li, Na and K (hydrogen, lithium, sodium and potassium). Then I’ll have all the alkali and alkaline metals done 🙂 -

Wow babies everywhere! This is wonderful! I am happy to report to all pending and new (and new again) mamas out there that the lullaby layette pattern rocks as pyjamas for a newbie also. I am yet to post the photos of my little one in her new ones but I am ecstatic to report that they worked a treat last night in keeping her warm and she only woke…[Read more]

Round the world girl – I applaud you for getting some sewing done for your baby! I’ve got a list a mile long for my upcoming boy and have sewn exactly nothing for him as of yet 🙁 He’s due mid June so there’s still some time, which is what I keep telling myself and subsequently putting his sewing off! I just need to get Easter outfits done for my…[Read more]

We took feedback very seriously from the survey we asked people to complete last December. We’re making a few changes to our digital patterns for this spring as a result of feedback (one change is in the inclusion of A0 sheets), and we’ll be making a major enhancement to them starting with our next collection.
I have it on my list to do a series…[Read more]

Yes, digital patterns currently available are not sized to be printed on A0 paper–which, by the way, seems to be an Australian standard not used most other places.
Starting with our Spring 2015 patterns, though, we will be included A0 layouts for those of you Down Under.

Kerrilyn replied to the topic Alterations: How to lower front waistband (& keep back high), w/o changing hem grain line? in the forum sewing with liesl + co and oliver + s 10 years ago
On the Peek A Boo Skinny Jeans (not an O+S pattern) the front is lower rise. They achieved this by curving the top of the front piece from the side seam to the centre front. Obviously this would not work for a fold over waistband but did work for the two pairs of jeans I made with attached waistbands. Good rear coverage and no bunching at the…[Read more]

Yes long sewing rooms do have that advantage don’t they?
Yesterday, I made a start on the three bubbles by sewing the skirt pieces together. I have two yet to press out the curvy sides and then I can sew the linings to the skirt of two of them because I haven’t yet cut a third.
I also have topstitching on the little Tea party dress bodice to do…[Read more]

I bought a digital pattern the other day, and went to get it printed at a print place, alas it doesn’t fit on A0, the largest I can get printed here in Australia at my local print place :-(. For this reason I would pick paper patterns. You can tape the digital together but I find them harder to store and prefer one big piece of paper.
