That does help. But when you say you go through the lining, do you mean you also go through both layers? So small stitch into sash, long stitch in both layers of dress?

Will these help?

I know what I do but I am not sure what it is called….
I stitch a small stitch into the sash ( 2mm) and that goes to a longer running stitch in the dress lining (1 cm), pulling so it is firm but does not pucker.
I will see if I can find a picture for you.

Really nice shears, needles, and pins, maybe a really nice thread for hand sewing delicate items? I’d be interested in something nice that I can’t get at JoAnn — not a consumable staple but something upgraded.

Yes a buttonhole chisel. I’ve always wanted one of those. Good quality pins that are sharp and won’t snag fabric. Sewing sheers! Liesl if you do decide to carry them, could you allow for us lefties please? It is very difficult find good left handed sewing scissors (sheers). Duckbill scissors would be great too.

I think @dubhels2003 still has a valid question. Even if you are to use the 2 pieces of interfacing on view A, it doesn’t say anywhere in the pattern where or when to use them. Or am I missing something?

Jess M. replied to the topic Which size would you use (4 or 5)? in the forum sewing with liesl + co and oliver + s 10 years ago
I’m having this issue right now! I usually scale up. Only because I know we will wear it eventually! This said, I haven’t made many of the pants yet! Only shorts!
I have the feeling Maria is teeny like Tildy! I think the ones I know are a tight fit over the head, I’m sizing up to 5’s. I’m still debating on the Family Reunion–4 or 5 LOL.…[Read more]

I would love to see some good quality sewing needles. I do like a bit of hand sewing (and soon to venture into the hand quilting world!). Also, glass head pins!

This may be a silly question, but how exactly do you hand sew the trim to the dress? Not sure how to proceed! I guess I could wing it but would feel more comfortable with direction on how to stitch it!

I have one I inherited from my Grandma and I’ve only ever used it for heavy oaktag, so I’m sure it wouldn’t be effective on fabric by now. But I hadn’t ever considered using one on fabric until now. Nicole, please do show us what you use! Is it something you’d like to see us carry? I’m very curious.
And while we’re talking about tools, is there…[Read more]

How about the Roller Skate dress? Eliminate the elastic waist; it may work for you.
