This Drew has a wide neckline. Does it really need a full button back packat? Or could you do a small keyhole at the back instead. Then, you just make a lining skirt and stress skirt separately with French seams. Then baste then together at the top to attach to the yoke.

Yes, that is an ambitious stack. Timing is everything in this, because these original pattern are summery ones. And they go through several sizes a year at this age, so we’re lucky to hit sizes 5 in the summer. Realistically, I’m sewing/buying 6 for everything else so they last longer, but size 5 fits so I’m doing a couple of these for sentimental…[Read more]

The popover sundress with straps instead of ties. In fact, that’s how I’d alter the class picnic – use bias to bind the armholes and creat straps all in one. That would be simpler.
I think badminton would be great too, if you have that pattern. But it would also be pretty easy to add cute ruffles to the popover dress.
A super pretty nightgown…[Read more]

I haven’t tried it, but the sailboat sounds cute for a 2 year old.

I recently used the Sketchbook for jeans for my daughter: https://www.flickr.com/photos/79480359@N03/14699004800/
And After School for my son:https://www.flickr.com/photos/79480359@N03/8668350104/
But my all time favourites were made by mixing the After School back with a modified Field Trip front:…[Read more] -

Sorry all of you who are waiting. We can’t even announce the new patterns yet because someone (I won’t say who…) is spending this week enjoying some wonderful spring skiing in Utah, and he has to finish photographing the samples and editing the modeled photos once he gets home later this week. He’ll be working over the holiday weekend to get…[Read more]

I’ve sewn the sandbox and after school pants in denim several times and have been happy with the results. Nicole has altered the sketchbook shorts to pants and has done a bang up job of owning that pattern. Search “sketchbook” on her blog and you’ll be in for a treat.…[Read more]

My son indicated that he wanted some pants like mama’s aka jeans. What O + S pattern eould be best for denim? I have all pants patterns except Art Museum and the sailor-type ones. He’s 2, fyi.

I’ve done Pinwheel, Badminton, and Class Picnic as summer nightgowns. Pinwheel is my favorite, though I recommend adding length.

I think Badminton would make a fantastic nightgown. Though I also have a Kwik Sew pattern that I love for nighties.

@sahmcolorado I think I will be doing this for my oldest girl too! She still takes a 2 or 3 width in the dress patterns but she needs 6 for length.
lol @Jess M. that is quite an impressive stack you have going!

Are you noting down all your interesting pregnancy dreams Masha? I didn’t, but then I didn’t have them.
Just got a message that friends of ours have had baby number three last week and we missed the whole thing – was planning a hosptial visit but they apparently are now at home. Number three is a baby girl which is thrilling enough in itself. I…[Read more]

I love the badminton (modified). Added more of an a-line skirt and a ruffle at the hem. She loves it too plus it gives me an excuse to use all the character fabrics that I don’t love for her to wear in public!

Uhm I am about to embark on this. Though some patterns will be size 4 because we can still fit a few.
I think I may be a bit ambitious for this spring/summer.
