Jeanette started the topic What size to make? in the forum liesl + co: gallery tunic + dress 10 years ago
Im struggling to decide what size to make. I usually make a size 8 with a 3/4” FBA with Liesl +co patterns. My high bust is 36″ and full bust 38.5″ and I wear an E cup. The finished measurement for an 8 is given as 42″ so there is obviously a lot of positive ease. I dont what the dress to be too loose fitting so Im wandering whether to make a 4…[Read more]

rebecca started the topic ISO: Jump Rope Dress size: 4-8 — anyone have an uncut one to pass along? in the forum sewing with liesl + co and oliver + s 10 years ago
Does anyone have one in their stash they’re done with, and just want to sell? (Paper, size 4-8).
I’ve exhausted all of my internet search options, but really want to make this style!!
I’m in San Francisco (USA)
Thank you!!

Do new needles help?
I have had that happen before but not on a regular basis and I was puzzled as to how it could possibly happen too, but the same deal. Everything threaded still but one thread in the wrong position and no stitching.
My general solution to these issues is to totally rethread. That is to cut off at the spool end, pull all the…[Read more]

All the Art Gallery Knits have matching woven as well. I really hope Liesl has another Moda knit line though.

I was using city weekend interlock and the cotton of the same design (pink spots). Unfortunately interlock and I do not get on and the machine thought it would be nice as lunch when doing a buttonhole! I think I will just use up the rest of the interlock (of which there is quite a bit) as leggings or something.

I’ve taken it in for servicing three times. They find nothing wrong and tell me what seems logical to even me – the situation I described that happens defies the laws of physics. How does the thread become unthreaded from the needle but doesn’t break but a piece of thread has become looped through the needle not connected to the needle thread?…[Read more]

find a local shop and drop it off for repair. This may sound scary but I’m thinking it is probably some small bent thingy and a professional could take care of it with much less stress for you. Many years ago I was sewing up bathrobes for my 4 kids a week before Christmas (for gifts, becuz who doesn’t like extra stress during the holidays!) and I…[Read more]

We’re waiting from confirmation from the printer yet about when everything will be ready, but we’re tentatively planning on the second week in September. We’re at that point in the process where it’s mostly up to how fast the trucks can move back and forth across the country.

May I ask, what have you tried and what has been recommended to you by the repair person?
I have a Janome and I know that even though mine doesn’t pop, when the machine has come undone somewhere in the threading, it won’t chain well. Sometimes it kicks itself out of a hook somewhere and you wonder how the heck it happens but then I just have to…[Read more]
