I’m really unsure as to variety of flavours or anything for overseas. I’m even not that sure about how accessible it would be for him to access them from the US. Even that would incur some research. I think he just mentioned it because that was something he missed about home. I am happy to send to him. It would help relieve the homesickness.

I like the look of the see Kai run sandals @corlee. I found one supplier in NZ for those so I might look into them for next summer.

I am biased towards a plaid/check/gingham challenge since I suggested it. 😉 Especially since I love seeing how sewists can take these very traditional fabrics and put a modern spin on them.

Timtams are available at some walmarts in the US now so don’t know if that is an option for him from Canada? A friend of mine who travels from here in NZ to the US once a year always takes some for her friends over there but they’ve been able to get themselves now so that they don’t have to wait 12 months between their Timtam doses! 🙂

Hi everyone, I am new on the forum (although have been sewing Oliver and S patterns for 3 or 4 years) and wondering what the camel fabric on the pattern envelope is? I really like the way it drapes.

I say go with what feels right. Maybe do a circulation or one pattern at a time? I like the circulation bit better myself that way you don’t run the risk of being bored with the same old twenty times over. You could do them assembly style if you did chose to do say class picnic tops all in one go though.

He tells me he has milo on everything 😜😳 but then he is training with the wrestling team and of course needs the stuff for energy. Some of my ‘mums’ have had probs in the past knowing the front from the back of some O+S tops unless the outfit has pockets. Well I’ll give it a whirl with the front only, and see what happens. That would work fine with cotton webbing, ribbon may be a bit flimsy.

I’m assembly-lining five of these and am wondering whether I couldn’t completely stitch the bodies, turn, and enclose, and then add the straps last. I’m thinking of using webbing/tape/wide ribbon to save myself a bit of work. Am I missing a down side to this, other than it not looking as tidy?

I think you would be pretty safe to send milo, it’s a processed product so typically seen as low risk. Sending just a small amount to someone for their personal consumption shouldn’t be an issue, if you were to send vast quantities it may arouse interest as it would likely be assumed it was being imported for resale.
