Kathy Eastwood started the topic Will it work to add a closure? in the forum liesl + co: yanaka jacket 3 years ago
I love the cut of this pattern, but open jackets drive me crazy. Does anyone have experience (or just an informed opinion!) on whether it would work to add some sort of closure? Maybe a button and loop, or three?
Thanks!

Nicole replied to the topic Liesl and Co Woodland Cape in the forum liesl + co: woodland stroll cape 3 years ago
It is very roomy @sewrosey61 as it fastens with a side button.
This lovely pattern is my go to as a teacher gift. My last version was sewn for a AUS size 20.
(My tip, attach the button with elastic so it has some ease)
Alternatively, I think you could make a wee tab that has buttons on each end.Good luck!

Would love to make this cape but my hip and bust measurement is slightly bigger than the xl. How much ease does this cape have please.

Heidi, when you lined the Secret Agent coat, did you size up one or adjust the sizing to accommodate extra fabric? Maybe the fabric was thin and the pattern didn’t need to be enlarged?
Thanks!

I don’t yet understand how to position the facing in order to follow the directions for attaching the facing to the patchwork pocket.
How do I sew the initial 1/2″ seam allowance, then pivot at the corners while not completely sewing the edges of the facing to the pocket.
The image shows a 1/2 SA all along both the pocket and facing, with the…[Read more]

Does this pattern have pockets? If not, do you have tips on how to add some? Thanks!

lakepa replied to the topic Digital Verdun Sleeve Pattern Incomplete in the forum liesl + co: verdun woven t-shirt 3 years ago
The 3 missing pattern pieces were grouped with pattern piece 8, the tee back. It would have been helpful if the pieces had been grouped on a separate sheet included after the other sleeve pieces.

When I received my digital Verdun pattern, I printed all of the pages for view B, size Medium, A/B cup. The sleeve pattern piece, #10, was printed on pages 44 – 49. When I assembled the sleeve, I found that the pattern piece ended at an angle. There was no hem allowance at the bottom of the piece. If you look at the sleeve shown on page 50, it…[Read more]

Without seeing it on you I’d probably be inclined to make a larger size and taper the seams if needed, to get a closer fit through the torso.

Hello. I’m making the Yanaka jacke and have broad shoulders, which I knew before I made my toile. Any ideas how to adjust the shoulders. The length is good and can’t really tell about the rest of my jacket, yet.
Thanks for any help.

Todd Gibson replied to the topic Assembling PDF patterns in the forum sewing with liesl + co and oliver + s 3 years ago
Our PDF patterns are a little different than others in that you do not assemble a whole, large pattern sheet with all the pieces on it. Instead, you will be assembling the individual pieces one by one. (Why put them all together in a large sheet only to immediately cut them apart, right?) The tiled pieces do not fit together into a single sheet,…[Read more]
