Whilst attaching the skirt to the bodice of the croquet dress I am making today, I discovered that I attached the skirt wrong side out. It happened TWICE!

That blouse does sound lovely @withloveHeidi. I have just cut the 12-18 month size pattern for the class picnic blouse also with a view of using it soon.
I made a start on the croquet dress this morning while Chloë was sleeping. I am up to attaching skeeves, top and skirt.
I have to stitch the back placket of the last two remaining Playdate…[Read more]

I suspect that the vertical armpit wrinkle means you need less width through the chest at that point. I have fixed this by pinning out a dart on my practice version and transferring the new shape to my pattern. It can look quite odd.
You may need to add the amount removed from the front to the back, especially as you mentioned the back was…[Read more] -

I made this in a size 10 but I’m having some fitting issues.
I seem to have excess fabric near the armpit and twisting on the sleeves, I am also having pulling across the back even though it seem quite roomy everywhere else. HELP. -

Can someone tell me what went wrong in these areas? There seems to be extra fabric in the armpit and twisting on the sleeves.

I’m making a lovely class picnic blouse in burgundy, pale pink and grey rose print. I have only made this one other time but it’s a such an easy good looking make. I have 3 variations planned for over Easter 🙂

IMHO, the best way to figure this out is to measure. My kids will not wear a pair of pants if it is uncomfortable in the groin; ds has actually worn pants on his hips rather than have them bunch up in between the legs. Too much skin in the back!
Take the front and back measurements of a pair of pants that he likes and compare them to the ones of…[Read more] -

@enbee I can only add my story. If I upload photos, privately, they seem to stay that way, even after I change the settings, for a period of time.
If I want a photo to be public, I upload it publicly.
Flickr can be a bit temperamental.
I am sorry not to be more help.

I don’t know whether it’s better to bump this thread or start a new one, but here goes. I’ve started adding content to the flickr pool, but even if I change a picture’s setting to public, I only see it if I’m logged in. I’ve double-checked the settings (I do have a couple with my child’s face visible that are private and thus only viewable by…[Read more]

@rebecca just to throw things into the mix, have you looked at this one at all? http://violettefieldthreads.com/products/sloane-skinny-jeans-pattern.
Probably not what you are after but thought I would put it out there anyway.

I think it would finish it very well if you included the detail on the sleeve. It’s lovely.

This is the detailing I did.

I have added details to the collar and placket and can’t decide if I should do the same details on the sleeve hem. It’s a small leaf pattern in white thread.

I think that, in MOST circumstances, I will be downloading open source files instead of drawing my own. Graphic design is not my forte! And I might for tomorrow as well if I can find something simple.
We are using LaserCut, and it is a pain in the rear. Thus far, the guys have only tried drawing things IN the driver, which they admit is…[Read more]
