In-House Patterns are designed and developed with minimum ease for a sleek and fashionable fit. Review the size chart carefully and choose your pattern size accordingly. If your measurements fall between the sizes, choose the larger size, make a test garment, and tailor to your perfect fit.
Special attention has been given to fit an average figure with a full bust. The In-House Patterns average figure with a full bust is considered to be an hourglass shape with a "D" bra cup size. Don't worry if you don't feel you fit into this category, styling and design can be very flexible.
Seam Allowances and Construction Techniques
In-House Patterns strives for a completely professional looking finished garment and seeks to avoid that "home sewn" look. In order to achieve this, In-House Patterns seam allowances and construction techniques are not the same as many other home sewing patterns. In-House Patterns are developed using industrial construction techniques which require very specific seam allowances. This makes sewing easier and saves you time and fabric. All of the information and assembly instructions are included with the pattern and have been adapted for your regular home sewing equipment.
Sewing Skill Level
While In-House Patterns can be quite easy to sew, it is assumed that customers have previous sewing experience. Having a solid knowledge base in sewing vocabulary and skills will ensure greater success in achieving a professional looking finished garment.

Kimono TeeI've made 2, and love them. I have fabric for 2 more. With a large bust, it is rare that I can just make a pattern as is without any modifications. What a treat to just cut the fabric and sew. I am very happy with this purchase, and will definitely being trying more In House patterns. Was this helpful?Kimono Tee ReviewI recently sewed the kimono tee pattern. I loved the simplicity of the pattern and the instructions were very thorough. The garment had the overall fit that I was looking for, as it wasn't too tight nor too loose. However, something about the style of the garment seemed a bit awkward around the shoulder area. I was also a bit disappointed that the style looked more dated than I thought it would. As it was such an easy sew and the fit was right, I have considered modifying it next time. I would make the shirt a few inches longer, add side ruching, and spread the gathering at the top across the entire seam instead of just above the bust area. I think that would modernize the look of the shirt. Overall, because it was a quality pattern and fit, I think the pattern is still useful and worth tweaking.1 of 1 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful?
