    Suggested Fabrics

Primary Fabric: Use knit fabric with about 25% to 50% horizontal and vertical stretch as well as good recovery. French terry, jersey and sweater knit are good choices. Keep in mind knit fabric with more stretch and drape results in a more relaxed and longer fit, and vice versa. Note that the wrong side of the fabric will be visible when worn, so choose your fabric accordingly.

Interfacing: Use light-weight knit or tricot fusible interfacing.

    Choosing your Size

    • Compare your bust circumference (fullest part) to the “Body Measurements” table, choose the size that best fits your bust. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
    • Compare your waist circumference (narrowest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that best fits your waist. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
    • Compare your hip circumference (widest part) to the “Body Measurements” table. Choose the size that fits your hip best. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size if you like your garment more fitted; otherwise, choose the bigger size.
    • It’s OK to use different sizes for the bust, waist and hip. (See instructions for details.)
    • If you are taller or shorter than 5’6” (168 cm), you should consider lengthening or shortening the top (see instructions for details).
    • It is highly recommended that you check your fit by making a test garment with inexpensive fabric that has similar weight as your final garment fabric.

This is the second Itch to Stitch pattern I have used. I made a wearable toile of viscose and will now make another from merino. Very clear instructions and there were no issues. It sewed together beautifully. I used an overlocker and sewing machine.

Instructions were clear and very easy to follow. BUT American sizing is way different to Australian. Although I measured myself and blended sizes it was still way too big and quite shapeless. I needed to take the raglans in and chop the sides and armholes down. As I had done the hood neckline and front edges and it looked great I left those alone. Now very happy with the outcome
