    Cute skirt
Reviewed by (Verified Buyer) on 08/22/2016
While the skirt I made for my granddaughter turned out really cute, I have been having trouble with the directions. Maybe I have been sewing way too long and am set in my ways. The way the patterns go together are counter intuitive, which really throws me for a loop. I did lengthen the upper portion as my granddaughter is quite tall, but the turn line on the flipped over part seemed way too wide, so I just made the lower skirt fit the upper skirt, and whatever was left over was the flip part, Turned out very nice, but was frustrating
Yes, the construction method used for this pattern is unique, and that's what gives the interesting reversible finish. If you trust the instructions and follow them as written (even if they seem a bit odd) you will come out with a pleasing result.

The Good, Great and Not So Good about the Hula Skirt
Reviewed by (Verified Buyer) on 04/08/2016
The good - it does produce a very cute "twirly skirt" as requested by my Granddaughter.
The Great - as always the instructions are wonderfully clear and easy to follow.

The Not So Good - the skirt is WAY TOO SHORT!! I know that my Granddaughter is tall, but this skirt is too, too short. I did compensate for her height by going up in size (2 1/2 yr old - size 5), but even so the skirt is too short for comfort... not sure she will be able to wear it.
I know that I can modify the pattern to try to make it fit better but I really shouldn't have too!

I made 2 of these for my 2 and 3 year old granddaughters: both of them loved the skirt and my daughter wants one for herself! Do you make adult patterns?

    Hula Hoop Skirt
    Reviewed by on 11/18/2014
Once I figured out the directions (have not sewn for years & it was a little tricky for me to figure out how to make the pattern), this little skirt was very easy to put together & it is adorable. An added plus is that it is reversible so that opens the wearability options. I highly recommend this pattern. It appears to be true to size. It was a fun first project for a novice.

    The Go-To Birthday Gift!
    Reviewed by on 08/27/2013
Why did I take so long to make this? Love it L O V E it! I only recently made this super fun little skirt up in light weight denim, reversing the fabric so it was light one side and dark the other. A quick and easy sew but take care that you mark the notches as detailed in the first step of the sewing instructions. I had an issue with my frill being a little large for the yoke but that was easy to adjust and I really need to make it again to see what I did wrong. I paired it with a lined Ice cream blouse and it looked sweet but still quite acceptable to a grown up 10 year old. http://www.flickr.com/photos/motherof5/9477701786/in/photostream/

I sewed up a couple of these for my girls. They are a quick sew and really cute. It is nice that they are reversible so they can wear them more often.
