Oliver + S

  • I can imagine that skirt on your twins 🙂 Elsa in particular. I hope it comes out well.

I’ve sewn my third baby onesie from Ottobre, there’s so many babies due this year I’m trying to get ahead on gifts. The onsies are so quick and easy and pair beautifully with the lullaby layette pants and jackets 🙂

  • Are the Briar tops for you or Imogen? I’ve been looking at the pattern and wondering if it would suit me (tall, short waisted, pear shaped) now I’m in the size range. Maybe made from a very drapey fabric.
I made myself a Jalie polo top. I am very impressed with Jalie’s placket. Not the fantastic Oliver and S instructions, but I got a very nicely…[Read more]

  • I just went and checked Instagram, love that new dress! Twirly, princess seams, beautiful!

  • I was trying to line the lullaby layette pants but no now I need to unpick 🙁
Stupid thing 1: sewed while tired and feeling slightly unwell
Stupid thing 2: sewed after 9pm at night
Stupid thing 3: did not stop after making first mistake!
Stupid thing 4: not checking I could turn them through once pinned
Result: endless loop of pants and lining…[Read more]

  • That waterfall neckline sounds interesting, I would like to see it. I discover I like waterfall cardigans after making the Swoon one last year.
I’m finally adding elastic to the waists of 2 pairs of denim layette pants. I feel like I haven’t sewn much in the last week or so, hoping to get back to it this weekend.

  • So glad to hear she’s enjoying school, Tamara!
I also didn’t see the maintenance notification, this is the first time e I’ve been able to find the site in over a week. Although I was able to see this forum once during the week on my phone so I knew what was going on,even there I couldn’t get the new site the next day.
It’s good to be back 🙂

  • Those Bento tees sound lovely and perfect for surf camp.
I’ve been sewing lullaby layette pants and jackets. I’m up to 2 jackets and I’m on my third pair of pants. I think I’ll made a tea party playsuit next, as there are so many babies on the way!

Babies grow far, far too fast.
Their childhood I know will not last

  • Thanks for the reply Nicole, I was hoping you would chime in 🙂
It’s great to hear that wool is practical for babies as I had been wondering if it would be a good choice. I think I’ve got another small piece of wool, I might have to made another pair too.
    Trixie’s dungarees were so cute!

  • Thanks Tamara and Liesl 🙂
I’ll have to line them, rather than underlining, as I’ve already made up the main pants section, it just needs hemming and the waistband.
    Thanks for such prompt responses!

  • I’m making size 6-12m Lullaby Layette pants in slightly scratchy grey wool. I’m wondering about if it would be a good idea to line them and with what? I’ve got satin type lining fabrics as well as cotton/poly cotton.
    These will be a gift.
To line or not to line?

My little girl is about to outgrow
Her coat, her frock and chapeau
    I’d better get sewing

  • I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts on the Tania culottes, I’ve been eyeing the pattern ever since they came out but I was so far out of the size range at the time that I didn’t even bother. Finally my waist is in the sizing, so it’s on my “thinking about” list.

  • That’s great to hear the positive feedback 🙂 Espically after struggling all summer to even get her to look at patterns.
I’m struggling with pattern fitting for myself. I’ve lost weight, which is great but now none of my TNT patterns fit! I’m trying to fit a pattern for bathers shorts and I am not finding it easy 🙁
Time to put it aside for the…[Read more]
