Finally got started with the t shirts today after a few non sewing days. I completely mucked up the neckline of the first Jalie raglan t shirt. I do not like the instructions for the binding at. all! Instead for the second one I di it the normal way and gained a much better result. It’s actually wearable and everything is approved by the…[Read more]

Nicole replied to the topic Has anyone paired the B6183 top with the Everyday Skirt? in the forum liesl + co: everyday skirt 8 years ago
I think if you got a good fit of your bust /waist it could look lovely. I am not tall or willowy so avoid too much ‘floatiness’. I did wear the skirt with the Weekend blouse but I had good bust/under bust definition.
This skirt sat really low on me, with looser tops I felt a bit ‘messy in the middle’.
I am not sure I am being much help…sorry. -

I wore my Everyday skirt through out my last pregnancy with a fitted black tee. I quite liked that silhouette.

I would measure your arm from shoulder point to the widest part of your upper arm and then measure to the pattern to see if this corresponds and then do the same from the widest part down to the elbow and then again from elbow to wrist. This will give you a good indication of where you are shorter on your arm and where you need to shorten the…[Read more]

@jay_1965vw congratulations sweetheart! What a wonderful piece of news to share and she looks a very special treat. I am so glad she is content at the moment (my Chloë was like that too) and that you are all doing well. Three isn’t as bad as what people say… I think it is just used as a deterrent myself! I have been busy tracing and altering patterns for myself. As yet I have one dress in pieces yet to be sewn and I traced the field trip pattern last night in order to sew a few basics for the baby.
Today I will trace an adult raglan pattern for my eldest and see if I can get a few t shirts from the seemingly minimal knit fabric range I have.
The…[Read more]

Hi Marsha
The beauty of these sewalongs is that even when they nave finished, you can still sew along.
I’m sorry you had trouble posting a photo. Sometimes like you say the file is too big to be loaded. Do you have a flickr account? Maybe we could see your photo in the group?

Lightning McStitch replied to the topic bodice lining in the forum oliver + s: fairy tale 8 years ago
You’ll hand stitch the lining to the zipper in one of the final steps.
If you read the last steps it should be mentioned there. Meanwhile, just follow the instructions and it will all come together beautifully. -

Ha ha ha @Enbee, it gave me a good laugh.
I follow the rule you can make most woven patterns with knits (if you take great care) but not the other way.
I would indeed interface the button holes and where you sew the buttons (an extra square where they would go) and handle the fabric gently when sewing. Stay stitching the neck will be very…[Read more]
