Nicole replied to the topic long sleeve? in the forum liesl + co: late lunch tunic 10 years ago
@sanitystitches I haven’t but I did talk someone through it (can’t remember who though, sorry).
We decided it would be best to cut and add length at about 4 inches from the cuff to keep the nice shape of the sleeve.
It has a bit of a bias thing going on so it may need trying and tweaking before you hem it.I hope that helps.

Hope all goes well Tamara, your comment about his limited range of movement pre and post surgery reminded me of an old Spike Milligan joke:
To paraphrase: “Doc, when the cast comes off, will I be able to play the violin?… Yes?…. Wonderful, I never could before”
The last time I was reminded of that joke was when I had a 9 week old baby about to…[Read more] -

Nicole replied to the topic What are you sewing now? in the forum off topic 10 years ago
I have two bags to make over the school hol’s. I will be in touch, Heidi, I am sure.
I have finished Matilda’s turn on the rota and I am on to Lidia. First up, a Sketchbook shirt with the Mandarin collar in Liberty.

I hope Murray is recovering @justsewit.
The school year has finished for us. We had our Presentation Night, Thursday night and it was a huge success.
Matilda was deliciously bouncy, dancing in her classes Beach Boy medley. Her neon Class Picnic set was just the job.

Heidi you’re a machine! I’ve just completed one and feel so glad to be done with it.
I was thinking of you as I sewed, though… I forgot about the side notches being out on the large pattern. Do you use them at all, or just ease the corners of the back panel onto the bag? -

I hope he recovers quickly Tamara.
I am sure the community will rally around you. When my husband nearly severed his hand with a chain saw we had a rota of community support, community organised. There was food, cut wood and offers of drives to to city (I am not a confident driver)
Country towns have great spirit. That said, what a busy time of…[Read more]

I think I see what you mean…
In the welt pocket construction steps the seam allowances of the welt/pocket bag seam are pressed towards the pocket bag (then held there when the sides of the pocket are closed)
Yet the trouser assembly picture does indeed seem to show this seam pressed open. (first image below).
