Wow! Lucky you Nicole! What make is it? It is just so important to have a good comfortable vehicle to drive around in, especially with growing children. We made our one and only trip across the Nullabor when I was 16 in a Nissan pulsar hatchback! Guess who had to sit her six foot self in the back all the way to Murray Bridge? NOT comfy so it is a…[Read more]

We are heading into very hot weekend, 40d+.
Thank goodness for our swimming pool.I get very nervous as we live on the edge of a National Park, bush fire risk is always there.
I have some very exciting news. My husband purchased me a van for Christmas.
I have been researching then for two years and I am so excited to have one.
It seats 12 adults…[Read more] -

How kind of you Helena.
I finished Trixie’s turn of the sewing rota and I am getting stuck into Tildy’s.
I drafted off the School Bus tee, size 4 with the length of a 7.
What are you sewing now? 🙂

A play dress up for grabs
https://www.flickr.com/photos/motherof5/5025134189/in/album-72157625264559742/It has been worn by two children but has no stains or tears. Yellow is not Tildy’s colour, it clashes with her hair.

Do you have any of the recent Lisette for Butterick patterns @roundtheworldgirl? If so then maybe grey lisette skirt or trousers with a nursing friendly (if needed) top in probably mustard if it suits your skin tone? Sounds exciting.
I have been busy cutting bottoms for the baby and am only now starting to sew them, starting with a pair of…[Read more]

Nicole replied to the topic How to cut faux fur to trim hood in the forum oliver + s: school days 10 years ago
Hi @kmac0107, you really don’t want it stretching as you sew, that will pucker the hood once the seam relaxes.
It is hard to advise without seeing the fabric, does it have a pile/nap?
My sewing mind says across the grain for the best result of the look of the fur (perhaps hand baste and sew very slowly to avoid stretching) but my logical mind…[Read more]

Everyone is busy with holdiays and family (I am busy nursing a sore head).
I have been attempting to trace and cut patterns in a larger size for the baby now so I can get straight on with the fun stuff.
I should be sewing boy things (but I have lost my patience with vague instructions written by people who don’t normally speak English it seems).…[Read more]
