I’m not sure if the following fits into this thread but I wanted to tell the forum that all the things I made for the Maytime Fair sold well, and quickly, and were popular ie the stall manager would like some more of the same, next year. So my contribution raised $300; nearly 25% of the stall’s overall takings. Isn’t that cool? I’m told that the…[Read more]

Awww T, can’t wait to see that. I finished the Popover #8 last night, _ the one that didn’t make the post in time, and have spent most of day taking advantage of sunshine to chose fabrics for a variety of projects. Job done, but my feet are killing me, and the mess I was attempting to clean up is not much improved. But I think I’m ahead on points.…[Read more]

Really looking forward to hearing what names have been chosen; a good friend and I are punting for Alice, and/or Helena. I think that there is also a reasonable chance of ‘Margaret’ being included in the “string”. (This was the name of the current Queen’s sister, and only sibling, dear Republicans).

  • You are very welcome, Liesl. I meant every word!! And many I didn’t write. Thank you Enbee for your encouragement about sewing knits. My Janome has a walking foot which I use often; in fact I have re-discovered its usefulness in topstitching, and for attaching binding. (I used the WF almost all the time I was constructing the Popover Sundresses,…[Read more]

Sounds like you are making the most of a break on the work front, lattem. I look forward to seeing your Parachute shirt, and your Vintage pattern, Nicole.

I finished 7 Popover Sundresses today, and they are washed and ironed and ready to post to Melbourne tomorrow with an assortment of crafty things as a donation to the Maytime Fair in Kew. I’m…[Read more]

  • Liesl, Todd and all the hardworking persons associated with Oliver+S; just wanted to say that I really do like the new kids’ patterns. As I don’t really have the wherewithall for knit sewing, I will be purchasing both size-sets of the Butterfly Top, and skirt. I can see lots of potential for these items, and they look comfortable for kids.

    Thank…[Read more]

I’m up to choosing the buttons for my first Hopscotch skirt, and have cut out two size 8 Rollerskate dresses. Say I’m you’s Garden Party dress has inspired me to try one for Miss 6 1/2 (recently finished the Lunch Box culottes, and a Badminton top for this child). Last December, I cut out a Hopscotch skirt for her but when I got it out last night,…[Read more]

Jenny, darling. You are not bumming on anyone!! You are truly going through a really tough time, kiddo, and I do really sympathise. There are times in everyone’s life when everything bad just seems to happen at once, and the sense of disbelief that the bad stuff just keeps on coming is overwhelming. But as you probably know, it does ease and…[Read more]

Dear Jenny, and Jay, I shall be thinking of you both during Easter, and really hoping that the truly tough days you are enduring at present are over as quickly as possible. All my sympathy, and affection. Fiona

  • Thank you for extra info/comments about this pattern. Hopefully will get opp to try this pattern this year. So interesting to see how much Tildy has grown, Nicole since the photo of her in coral pants/top c/o After School.
