No sewing, it was a washing and ironing day, but I did prep some cornflower blue cotton poplin for Music Class school blouses (short sleeves and pin tucks) for Lid’s and Tildy.

I *was* going to cut navy Badminton skorts as bottoms but I am seriously considering Lunch Box culottes with all the lovely versions popping up in the Flickr pool…..

I’m tackling a fake leather moto jacket for my teenage daughter. This is the most complicated pattern I’ve ever sewn…I hope it turns out nice!

    • Oh, good luck with that!

    • Thanks, Todd! It was a huge challenge but I did get it finished…finally. If I’d known that there was an upcoming Lisette moto jacket pattern coming I would have waited for that!! Ah well, I suppose I can always make one for me.;)

    Yay @vothgirl.
@Dawn R, that will look so cute.

Don’t you love it when a experiment works?
I made Trixie a Hopscotch top and skirt today but I adapted the skirt to have the Tea Party bloomers built in.
    And it worked!

It was not with out a few head scratching moments though. As I have said in the past, I take my hat off to pattern designers,…[Read more]

Yes, do, maybe even the 2T?
I make this for my girls as a school uniform and is a dress that can be worn a little big with a deeper hem.

  • Yes, you might be able to size down a bit. Just be sure the skirt will fit over your hips! That’s the only reason I left the ease–it would be such a shame to sew it and not be able to actually pull the skirt on!

Justine-We finally convinced BK to give up her special blanket (Yellow) as it was about to start falling apart. I’ve washed it and put it away in her keepsake box. I think I’m more sad than she is…she was my only kid with a special lovey.

I’m partway through a clever Charlotte orchid blouse for my middle girl. And I had a special request to…[Read more]

In the mail, but they are not fancy ones. #9 sharps. 🙂

  • I agree, I made a large per my measurements and wore it a lot, pregnant, 😉

  • I made this tonight http://www.pinterest.com/pin/73676143879970347/, I doubled the recipe but used much much less oil and substituted tinned tomatoes for fresh and 1/3 cup curry powder for green chillies.

It was so yummy, everyone had seconds, even Tildy.

@Rhythm, could I use desiccated coconut?

@Justsewit, it will come in time! My #2 ended being higher risk than #1 (having contracted H1N1 during the pregnancy, and having taken a belly flop in a parking lot, and having developed a life threatening sinus infection, and having developed serious anemia) and Gigi (@Nicole- Thank you! That’s short for Gabriella Genevieve) was my end result.…[Read more]

  • I am going to suggest you make a muslin. It goes together beautifully, but has tons of ease. You may not need the size it says you need. You may be able to go down one or two depending. Or you may need the size for the front of one, but a narrower cut/ size down in the back. The back has extra and for some of us, ahem, there can be a bustle…[Read more]

    Today’s sewing has consisted of:

1 hour cobbling Lucy’s Sheepie (her security blanket) back together – she has many, many sheepies, but only one Sheepie 😉 – it is really disintegrating at a rapid rate…

1 hour making alterations to a RTW tee that Harry bought for himself the other day. Rosie (unfortunately) has introduced both the boys to her…[Read more]

Ooh, those look great. I love her videos, she’s got this kind of funny, quirky way of talking about things.
