Gosh! I think I need one handed typing lessons from the looks of the last post.
Making tracks with the tunic and also working on a matching bonnet. I like the brim folded back look on the purl soho bonnet.
I am hoping to get the majority done before this cyclone hits us (yes aparently it is coming this far south!) and then I could do any…[Read more]

Five hours sewing time into Hugo’s Thread Theory Goldstream peacoat and it is shaping up beautifully. http://threadtheory.ca/collections/store/products/goldstream
I am making a quick detour to sew a Sketchbook shirt for my cousin’s baby boy who is turning 1, his party is on Sunday.
I am making the size 12-18 months and using a Liberty Wiltshire…[Read more]

These are my favourite pj’s too!
(I find the cuffs easier on the Sleepover pj’s if I reverse the attachment ) -

I know it is sleeveless but it is simple, have you thought of the badminton dress at all? Otherwise I would go with the family reunion or the Carousel.

Are you able to get an invisible zipper foot for your machine Jay? I find they work better if you dont have a piping foot. Anotger thought, and I have done this in the past also, to stop the piping from bei g pushed away, is o baste it first. I know it is time consuming but it will give a better result if this is what your foot is doing to it.

Oh, that’s an odd looking zipper foot! Can you bring the needle very close to the attachment point? Good luck!

How much fiddling do you want to do, and what is it that you like about the dress? At first glance the Carousel looks like a good bet.

Haha, I’m glad somebody gets my shoe obsession! These were my first pair of ‘good’ shoes, I got them 75% off at the post New Year’s Sale at Neiman Marcus and they still cost what felt like an arm and a leg. I still wear them, though! Got my money’s worth in the long run.

M-C, ultimately you are the one who has to be comfortable, and you are the one who knows your friends and what will make you look like part of the group vs what will make people gasp and clutch their pearls. I’ve been to weddings where I felt underdressed in an embroidered silk Oscar de la Renta two-piece and to weddings where I felt overdressed…[Read more]

On changing threads, I have changed projects to a pink floral and linen tea party dress. I have knickers to sew and the ensemble can move into the handstitching basket.
Tomorrow I will continue with the puppet show shorts so they can join the stitching basket too.
