T, that poor baby is going to need the sound of a sewing machine recorded so she can develop good sleep patterns.Lol. Are all these outfits you’ve detailed in the last zillion posts, ALL for Chloe?

Finished yet another Popover – size 4 lengthened – in autumn colours, and nearly finished a size 5 Hopscotch Skirt with a frill to lengthen it. (Do…[Read more]

  • Dear Audrey, thank you for your kind comments about my Badminton Skirt; there’s a new pic in Flickr of one of my bunnies wearing her new Hopscotch. I wasn’t participating in your Sew a long; just serendipity.

Dearest T, thank you!! No, I seriously doubt I’ll be asked to sew – too much distance between Adelaide and Sydney for it to be practical – besides the fact that sheer fabrics are my bete noir. I shall content myself with cross stitching a magnificent wedding sampler (probably with rabbits hidden in it somewhere – don’t ask), and maybe making a…[Read more]

Big news for my family!!! My eldest niece, Nicola (Nikki) rang me this am to tell me that she is engaged to James (who I met last December). Wedding likely to be early next year – shockingly hot and humid in Sydney, NSW at that time – depending on one of her two sisters’ travel plans. This is the first wedding for our family since Nikki’s parents…[Read more]

How fun, Nicole! When I was still in school in Sydney I did my work experience at my local veterinarian’s office – but was then selected out of students from all over the city to do a week of work experience at Taronga Zoo! Being an Assistant Zookeeper in the African mammals section was and still is one of the highlights of my life ;).

  • Not that I know of Tamara, although I think there may have been a correction put out regarding the Mabel waistband.
I finished my leggings with matching skirt as well as fixing the fleece Mabel I made last week.
It was to restricting so I cut 6″ off the bottom and added a ruffle instead. Now it’s wearable and doesn’t restrict my movement 🙂

  • I’m making myself another pair of leggings with a matching Colette Mabel Skirt. I’ve discovered now that the temperature has dropped I don’t quite have enough leggings to last all week. Now I’ll have 4 different sets of matching leggings and Mabels, teal, burgandy, black and this charchol/navyish set, and they all mix and match 🙂

  • That is very frustrating to have to redo the changes 🙁 But at least once you get down to the nearly finished pile hopefully you’ll see results fairly quickly 🙂

  • Fantastic work on the costumes!

  • Someone with more experience than me is going to answer you I’m sure. View A is not the easiest pattern to adjust because of the 2 layers, but it can be done. View B might be easier. I think you need to start at a 4, do an FBA and grade out the bottom of the pattern to a size 16. Try on the muslin and make your second round of adjustments from…[Read more]

  • In an earlier post someone wrote about a big sale of sewing and knitting items in their city. If anyone lives in New England there is a destash fabric and yarn sale, this weekend, at White River Yarns in White River Junction, VT. The Amtrak train station is across the street from the sale. http://www.whiteriveryarns.com/
