the kids’ spring show had a pirates premise, so of course they both drew long coats when I asked what they wanted to wear. After some thought, I modified the School Days Coat for both of them — hers with some shaping out of jacquard, his with no shaping out of poplin and satin.. Her pants are Puppet Show shorts lengthened to below the knee, with elastic hems instead of binding. I was going to make puffy shirts using Lisette 2064, but went with a regular Sketchbook shirt and a t-shirt because of the heat (imagine those extra layers on their chests! Seinfeld anyone?) His tricorn is the top of the Bucket Hat from LTTS but with a full-round brim, supported by toilet paper rolls on the upturns.
His coat in particular was quite the hit, thanks to Liesl’s patterns!
