  • My daughter and I love these sandals! I’ve been getting her a new pair each spring for the last 3 years and each year she wears them to death. They are very comfortable and never cause blisters, they don’t wear out easily, and they can be easily cleaned. One time we even got a ton of sap on a pair (white ones) and i thought for sure they were…[Read more]

Nicole Thanks for the sizing tip (on the skirt thread) for the lullaby layette bodysuit. It’s already basically done (just needs snaps) in 0-3 months from a knit fabric so it should accommodate the fluffy cloth diaper bum. I’ll have to remember to size up any woven ones I make!

  • If only my baby due in June was a girl! But alas, he’s a boy and won’t be doing much skirt wearing ;). I’m sewing all of his clothes so there’s no time to spare! (10 weeks left!)

Out of curiosity, are you including the badminton skort, plus the free patterns; lazy days skirt, and onstage tutu? Somehow despite being an Oliver + S fanatic I’ve only…[Read more]

Finally started on some layette for my June boy! First up is the lullaby layette set plus a pilot cap. I’m. So. Excited. 🙂

  • I’m so very tempted! If only I didn’t have so many other things that needed to be sewn first. I’ll have fun watching 🙂

Sarvi I totally understand what you mean and feel like my daughters closet is simply bursting with clothing, dresses in particular! I’ve recently decided to only sew things she really needs or has a particular occasion for. I just sewed her a new Easter/birthday dress even though she needs a new dress like she needs a hole in the head, but I feel…[Read more]

  • A boy pattern?! Ok, now I’m excited 🙂 I love sewing for my boy and with another boy on the way I’m thrilled to have more high quality patterns for them!

Round the world girl – I applaud you for getting some sewing done for your baby! I’ve got a list a mile long for my upcoming boy and have sewn exactly nothing for him as of yet 🙁 He’s due mid June so there’s still some time, which is what I keep telling myself and subsequently putting his sewing off! I just need to get Easter outfits done for my…[Read more]

Nicole, happy birthday to your Tilly! My Lily will be 5 next month and I’m scratching my head wondering where the time went. I’ve plans to sew her a birthday/Easter dress plus an Easter suit set for my boy. But that must wait until my current project is completed, a silk dupioni mother-of-the bride dress for a customer.

  • Is it too early to be clamoring for the spring sewing patterns? Anyone have any thoughts on what they may be? I’m still holding out hope for a dressy blazer but I know there are two big strikes against it; 1. Boy 2. Higher difficulty level. A mama can still hope right? 😉

  • I really agree with the “slow down and enjoy yourself” mentality towards sewing. I feel like all too often I’m in a race with myself to sew things faster then I can think them up. I’m never going to catch up on the sewing list so really I need to quit trying! Having said that, I want my kid’s wardrobes to be entirely handmade. Hmm.. conflicting…[Read more]
