Yes, you might be able to size down a bit. Just be sure the skirt will fit over your hips! That’s the only reason I left the ease–it would be such a shame to sew it and not be able to actually pull the skirt on!

I know you can purchase blackout fabric in white or black, and it’s designed to be durable and to really block out the light. Sarvi, you are going to love your serger once you get going with it! It will speed up your sewing because it finished seam allowances soooo much more quickly than the sewing machine. And of course that’s just the tip of the iceberg…
