Up to the waist band on some denim/wool jeans (vintage KwikSew) for my son, Hugo (18). Just as well I fitted the back seam as they were a bit toight.
Thank you Big4 big seam allowance 🙂

I am a metric-baby but swing between the two with the aid of a ruler.
Funny thing is, I trained as a hairdresser in the 90’s and we used imperial in college as well… -

@yeppoon4703 Fabric requirements for all our patterns are a pretty simple and straightforward 1:1 conversion.
OK, not really, but pretty close.
When we do our fabric requirements we do them to the nearest 1/4 yard because most stores won’t sell in quantities of less than that. We always use our pattern development software to calculate the…[Read more]

Liesl Gibson replied to the topic Has anyone paired the B6183 top with the Everyday Skirt? in the forum liesl + co: everyday skirt 8 years ago
I’d totally wear them together! I think it all depends on the fabrics you choose. But yes, they would absolutely work as a pair. It’s been on my list to sew a matching top and skirt using these two patterns, so if you get to it before I do I hope you’ll post photos! I think they could be cute as separates, but also as a matching set.

I think if you got a good fit of your bust /waist it could look lovely. I am not tall or willowy so avoid too much ‘floatiness’. I did wear the skirt with the Weekend blouse but I had good bust/under bust definition.
This skirt sat really low on me, with looser tops I felt a bit ‘messy in the middle’.
I am not sure I am being much help…sorry. -

I wore my Everyday skirt through out my last pregnancy with a fitted black tee. I quite liked that silhouette.

Liesl Gibson replied to the topic spring 2015 patterns – when?? in the forum sewing with liesl + co and oliver + s 8 years ago
Thanks for asking about this! I’m sorry to report that we won’t be releasing any new Oliver + S patterns this spring. All of my energies have been going into the upcoming book, which will be ready in early September. In the meantime, later this months we will be announcing some new Lisette patterns for summer. And come September you can also…[Read more]

Yes, I think it’s fine for older kids. You might need the buttons for smaller kids. It’s a proportion thing; little kids have much larger heads compared to their overall body size. It can be quite a challenge when I’m developing patterns!

PS Interface the collar and facings as normal as well as the extra at the button holes.

Ha ha ha @Enbee, it gave me a good laugh.
I follow the rule you can make most woven patterns with knits (if you take great care) but not the other way.
I would indeed interface the button holes and where you sew the buttons (an extra square where they would go) and handle the fabric gently when sewing. Stay stitching the neck will be very…[Read more]

@thejennigirl How lovely you are.
As a girl I was very tiny but full busted and it was hard to find nice clothes.
You are correct, my Twins are quite a different size. They have full derrieres but are very small chested. They ‘out grew’ O+S pattern before they ‘grew out’ of the size range, IYKWIM?May I suggest the Liesl+Co Bento tee? I made the…[Read more]
