How do you deal with sweat smell in synthetic fabrics? Mostly I have dealt with it by using all natural fibres but my daughter was given a dress and really likes it but it has a sweat smell to it despite being washed. Is there any way to get rid of it?
Thanks for your time. 🙂

The back looks like it is fitting quite well but in my opinion the front side darts need shortening a little. I actually just had a peak at my pattern and I shorten them by about an inch and a half for my daughter. That may explain why I had to curve the dart legs to get nice ends.
It is a gorgeous colour on her.

I should add I made sure all those stripes chevroned nicely when they met in the middle. 😊

Hi, I have a pair of Liesl and Co Girl Friday culottes up for grabs. Size 4 in a medium weight cotton with a nice finish. You can see them here.
The waistband is pieced, the stripes match up but the piecing is odd. Slightly off centre at the front and over one of the back darts. Not noticeable from a distance, but it…[Read more] -

Ah if only we could predict their growth spurts.
I made my 6y4m old girl a size 6 and needed to fold the cuffs up on both the pants and shirt when finished but 7m later the cuffs are folded out and they still show her ankles! Arms don’t grow quite as fast thankfully.
My take from this is to make them slightly bigger, so a size 5 in your case,…[Read more]

Do new needles help?
I have had that happen before but not on a regular basis and I was puzzled as to how it could possibly happen too, but the same deal. Everything threaded still but one thread in the wrong position and no stitching.
My general solution to these issues is to totally rethread. That is to cut off at the spool end, pull all the…[Read more]

That is so frustrating.
I know one way I have ended up with a problem similar to that is when opening the file in preview(Mac pdf viewer) and printing from there I nstead of Adobe Reader (which does work on macs too).
So did you print from Adobe Reader? Adobe is much more reliable and can be downloaded for free on the net.

I am finally getting around to sewing the diplomat but I really need to do a FBA and am unsure as to how to proceed. That seam around the bust line and my tiredness are not a good combination. If anyone has done this before and has any words of wisdom I would be grateful. I did start a topic on the lisette site about this.

Lightning McStitch, if you close one end of your snood with a hair tie you have a quick beanie. Though this will depend on how deep you made them.
Snoods are a favourite at our house too but I never knew they had a name! -
