We’re getting hammered with snow right now too from the same weather system. Everything locally is cancelled and motorists are warned not to travel until it’s over ….on Thursday?

If you think sewing is fun
Then you must make a quick run
For a pizza or tacos
Or maybe some nachos…
It’s a wonder I don’t weigh a ton!Next (I hope this is any good, was thinking of the new pattern releases we were all anticipating!):

This project reaffirmed my love for handmade clothing, especially the aspect of being able to customize a pattern to fit non-average-sized bodies! RTW pants are difficult for Ellie bc her waist and height fall into very different “typical” age categories. I love being able to make clothes that fit well and look great! So different to the…[Read more]

if I would’ve gone with her height, yes I would’ve made a size 3T and they would have been the perfect length. However, she’s so slim that even the 2T is plenty wide, especially since I didn’t cinch the waist elastic really snug. I was concerned that a 3T would be too baggy on her so that’s why I made the 2T with extra length. I think these will…[Read more]

I just finished a size 2T yesterday! Ellie’s measurements are pretty similar: waist 12-18m or 18-24m, hips 18-24m, height 3T+. I made the 2T and just added length to the bottom panels. Fixed my profile picture! Tho it was right side up on my iPhone, it kept loading sideways when I tried uploading it here. Weird. When I emailed it to myself and opened it up on the laptop, it uploaded right side up here in the forums. I’ve no idea why, but at least it’s oriented correctly now!

vothgirl replied to the topic What are you sewing now? in the forum off topic 10 years ago
I haven’t *technically* started my Christmas sewing yet, but I’ve pre-washed some lovely AMH interlock knit to make my mum a Late Lunch tunic as her present. It’s the next project after I finish these field trip cargos! Also on my Christmas sewing to-do list are: stockings for Olivia and my niece (I’m the “stocking-maker” in my family and this is…[Read more]

I say:
– crayons (2 syllables)
– soda (my husband is from Ohio and usually says ‘pop’)
– swimsuit or bathing suit– my husband says “crick” instead of “creek”
– my mother-in-law “warshes” her dishes as opposed to washing them. Another Midwest-ism, I think. How do you say “roof” and “mirror”? For me:
– ‘roof’ pronounced “rufe”
– ‘mirror’ has two…[Read more] -
