I have the printed copy of this pattern, and as I was laying out my pattern pieces to begin cutting last night I discovered that I don’t have piece 8, the neck tie pattern piece. I have no clue how this happened. I cut my pattern page down to fit it in the large format copier at my office, and all I can figure is I accidentally cut away that…[Read more]

To achieve that, I would cut the exact same size again, but sew the side/sleeve seam with a bigger seam allowance.
An extra 1/4″ seam allowance will take 1/2 an inch off the sleeve circumference and a full inch off the chest/body.
Saves on retracing the pattern in another size. -

Rather than using a different pattern, why not just cut two versions of the facing.
You’ll have a waistband with a top seam, but that can be a nice feature and help prevent elastic rolling.
Or, trim the seam allowance off the top edge of the facing piece then cut it with the length on the fold. That way you avoid the seam at the top.
Either way,…[Read more] -

Looking forward to seeing the tees, Nicole.
I am halfway through a quilt (my first!) for a friend’s baby. I took a break to participate in Kids Clothes Week. I’ve made a peplum School Bus Tee and two sets of interlock pjs for my boys (using the Playtime Legging, Field Trip Tee and School Bus Tee patterns). I have a knit top cut out using the…[Read more]

I want to make my husband a metro tee but I am unsure what fabric to use. I am a cotton/lycra jersey loyalist when it comes to myself and the kids, but none of my husband’s tees are made with a lycra blend. I am not necessarily looking for that beefy, non-stretchy jersey that many men’s tees are made of. And I guess recovery isn’t that important…[Read more]

@sarvi Thanks! We were quite surprised and she is so excited!
@justsewit Thank you Tamara! I am ordering the DVD’s so I can get a good idea of what to choose. The trouble is, I have always hated the Gene Wilder version. I love the story, but he gives me the creeps (in any film) so this will be some tough research for me. Johnny Depp on the other…[Read more]

I have made the Sailboat and the Hopscotch in denim and both were worn heavily. I do like the idea of a Swingset though!

I “thrifted” an old orange chair
The seat and the arms are threadbare
The legs are still good
They’re made of Dogwood
But the rest seems to be made of cat hairI’ve woken up with a very sore throat
{true but also the start of the next one}
