I’m so sorry to hear that Jay. My mother died of cancer last year and I did not make it home in time either. I felt very helpless and really devastated that I was not able to be there for her at the end. I hope your trip home and your visit to her family is able to provide some small measure of comfort. Iranian picnics sound much like Armenian picnics. Armenians (at least in Armenia, not sure whether they do this in Glendale too, perhaps you know?) go out into the woods and build a barbecue pit, then haul in the platters of skewered meat, herbs and vegetables (and lots of bread, no rice). But the last couple orders have had mistakes and this last one took me two emails, a phone call and two weeks to receive. Then they sent me a duplicate order.
