Oh, thank you Todd!! Well, last night, I took matters into my own hands, and using the Sketchbook pocket and facing pieces, I added pockets to the Butterfly Skirt. Making this, officially, something I would wear any day! LOL! Maggie likes the pockets too. It was very easy and fast to do. Modeled pics coming to my blog soon, I’m sure!…[Read more]

Sew Alongs 11 years agoSo I am hoping for some help here.

As I was pinning, I remembered thinking wow, the neckline is much…[Read more]

Did you see Liesl’s recent tutorial on the blog?

I just finished the blouse and I’m about to start making the skirt, but I am feeling an overpowering urge to add side slash pockets. I’m thinking of using the Sketchbook Shorts pocket as a basic starting point (but with a straight rather than curved opening). Has anyone tried adding pockets to the skirt? Maggie is at the “I love pockets!” age, and…[Read more]

Inder replied to the topic Neck facing puckering in the forum oliver + s: butterfly blouse + skirt 11 years ago
I just made this blouse for my daughter and I had to iron the living daylights out of both the neckline and and armhole facings to make it lie flat. While the method for bias facing in the pattern is nice and simple, I like cutting thinner strips of bias and then ironing the long sides towards the middle like single-fold bias tape. I feel like it…[Read more]

Oh my great big post didn’t post!
I know it is early days Masha, but I am thrilled there has been such progress made! It may be a long road or a short one but whatever the length I hope it is a successful one in that he regains much (preferrably all) movement, enough to be able to feel healed. It can’t be easy, but aren’t these glimmers such…[Read more]
