Hi Sonja, I think you may have answered your own question.
As there are many seams that make the ‘body’ of the trousers, if you make all your seam allowances a bit narrow, the yoke will be too big.
I think I did the same with my first pair.An easy fix, if this happens again and you have topstitched your seams, is to add a bit of easing through…[Read more]

What size are you making? Can you put up a picture? I have made this a few times in different sizes and never had a problem.

Last night I finished the 2+2 top. Today I hope to keep going on the music class shirt but am comsidering changing the sleeve to short ones considering our very out of character spring like weather when it is supposed to be cold and raining!

Even though they print from rolls, many 36″-wide printers are only able to print pieces up to a certain maximum length. I forget the exact length now (I always need to look it up when we have a long pattern), but it’s around 80-90 inches or so. If a pattern ends up being longer than this, we have to split it onto two sheets so it comes in under…[Read more]

Some of my patterns have been printed in two sheets, not sure about the reasoning- mostly the larger size ranges or adult patterns. I second looking for a local print shop, mine knew exactly what I needed and was better priced than the office supply chains.

Sew Alongs 10 years agoAny specific recommendation for the interfacing for the Parachute Polo? I have Pellon SF 101 but I think it’s a bit too heavy.

To be honest, I don’t really know. I just wanted to experiment. I think it would have everything to do with where the seam was and what fabric you were using that would lend itself to advantages or disadvantages. I would think this way would be ideal to use with fabrics that are light but fray alot. This way cutting is kept to a minimum as you…[Read more]

Johanna, are you long in the body? If so ( like me) I can just lop off the hem. If you are short bodied you may want to shorten above the waist line.

I was just going to mention this, @aussie! Looks like it’s a versatile bow tie pattern–you can even make it for your dog…or probably cat.

Several pairs in rotation over two daughters and no complaints here.

They fall at the hip. I think it just looks low because of the style. Its a great pattern. I have made this one for both my older daughter and my son and hope to make a pair soon for the baby.
