Does anyone know where I can find a pattern (hopefully written as well as an Oliver & S pattern) for a sheet, bumper, crib skirt and quilt that I can make from the blues in City Weekend. My daughter is expecting a boy the end of May!

If you go to the City Weekend flickr there is one in the group pool. The maker maybe able to assist you if you send them a flickr mail.

I think the tutorial I use for my crib sheets was cutting 8inch squares from the corners, I need to double check my print out I use with my notes. I never got around to making the bumpers. And I made my quilt using graph paper. Is there a particular kind of quilt you’re interested in making? I just used 6.5″ squares sashed in white : http://www.flickr.com/photos/jmaatta/3175042077/in/set-72157611601899112/

I mean, I used graph paper to figure out my dimensions once I decided on how I wanted my quilt. It ended up 55×55.

I used the pattern from Amy Butler’s Little Stitches book. The bumpers have pockets and were pretty simple to do. I also made the quilt and made my own pattern for the crib sheet because of the oval shape.

I really like the Nu Foam crib bumper pads: http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Bumper-Batting-Nu-Foam-26-Inch/dp/B0016ZLU0M I got mine at JoAnn. They come with instructions to make the bumpers so you don’t need any pattern. They are nice and firm and stay straight up against the side of the crib. Also, since the bumper is in 6 separate pieces, it adjusts well to any style crib and you can remove the two front pads if you convert the crib into a toddler bed. I even used just a single bumper on my daughter’s toddler bed headboard for awhile.

WARNING – I made a crib set for a friend using these and she washed them in the machine and the Nu Foam didn’t hold together. The package says washable, but maybe not in the machine?
