Yay for a new craft shop!
I have put the shorts away while I work out how to fix/fit them. I moved onto a pair of TNT legging and matching Colette Mabel skirt which I can get out of 2m of fabric! I know these will fit and get worn every week as I already have matching leggings and Mabel skirt in 2 other colours 🙂

I have just finished the hems of three lullaby layette shirts. Just have to apply poppers and then take photos.

Next is… Whatever I pick out of the tray. Probably some very cute looking linen layette pants.

If I get the date we want, it mean there will be four weeks to go.

I have abandoned the concept of the Doctor coat – not enough time. I did get a little seat made for Harriet that straps onto Audrey’s wheely suitcase. She’ll have a nice comfortable ride to get on the plane.
No sewing scheduled now, I’m trying to make a mini passport for Harriet, and otherwise, just dealing with farewells!
Boxes haven’t arrived yet for packing clothes, and our prepack and uplift are scheduled to start next Monday.
Arghhh! Feeling very overwhelmed and sad to be leaving my friends 🙁

Darling Jay! A move can be very overwhelming at the best of times. Hang in there. Soon you will be able to get the sewing things out and get going again. Just take the time to be in the moment with your friends and loved ones and I sincerely hope everything goes very well for the packing part so you and the girls can take off and fly to your destination without huge bundles of stress on the mind.

Heaven knows we do not need so much stress in our lives.

Today, I plan to really get cracking with something I can do multitudes of in one go. I myself had a bit of a mishap in the stress department yesterday. My blood pressure reading was the scariest ever this pregnancy and I almost landed in hospital for an overnight stay! Whilst I never actually plan to do that, I think that because I have yet another appointment with the doctor tomorrow, I will do what I didn’t do last time and that is to make sure I have the overnight bag in the car ready to go, complete with some stitching for stress release!

So today I am thinking of making a couple of pairs of the layette pants as they seem easy and straight forward. Beyond that I haven’t thought but I do have some frilly bloomers to sew up also so maybe I will get the chance to do those also.

It is such a pity they make machines heavy. Or else I would sit with feet up and sew with mine on my lap – should I find the niche of comfort in this very thought that is.

I have four weeks to go. And I would like to keep it that way, as scheduled!

Two pairs of layette pants sewn – check!

They were really quick to put together. I might get to make a few more but next, I plan to cut and sew a couple of bubble dresses and a puppet show set.

justsewit I have this image in my mind of a pregnant lady setting in an easy chair with a sewing machine balanced on her belly sewing up little baby clothes. LOL Hope and pray all stays well for you and baby.

Hehe! I sincerely wish it could happen but baby girl will kick it something silly due to the weight. It is a hilariously funny image to have isn’t it? I don’t know anyone who has ever taken their sewing machine to hospital with them – but if it were allowed it would also be an option. I could drown out the noise of other crying babies and lull mine to sleep with the machine’s whirring.

It is truly my intention to not stop off at the hospital today if I can truly help it. Fortunately the appointment is in the morning so I can’t exactly go “tearing around the place” and get myself in a tizz.

The downside is though that I don’t really have many handstitching items to take with me so would be stuck should it happen – but I want to make sure it doesn’t.

I hope to get the chance to cut at least one bubble dress out before I have to leave this morning.

Didn’t get to cut out the bubble dress this morning and only arrived home shortly before the school bus. So we have been busy prepping to put up the Christmas tree all afternoon since.

I want to put a full day of sewing in both tomorrow and Friday though. All these doctors appointments have me away from the machine too many times but they are as necessary as the sewing so they both have to be juggled somehow.

I will work on the bubble dresses tomorrow and see if I can get all three out of the way and complete, at least up to sewing on the buttons and then any handsewing can be done while the feet are up.

I am so glad I knit and crochet. I have taken these project to a lot of appointments and to several hospital stays. I wish I had my projects this last time. Late October I went in as an emergency with extreme high blood pressure. I could have used a project to help bring it down. lattemama that is the cutest story. I hope she and her twins did well. I will have to go back and read about how it turned out. justsewit please post as you can so we know all is well. I will be praying daily for you and your family.

I am on a personal mission to do a clutch a night until I get to 10??? This way, I will box them up and hand them out like candy for Christmas. Teachers and therapists and such. Although I may need more than 10. I can think of so many people that this is a perfect little gift for.

Oh where has the day gone? I was in town at school until just before lunch at the primary school graduation (yes it was my Imogen’s turn). Then I fell asleep after lunch and dragged myself into a standing position to go and cut out the white bubble dress – which I have just done. And now it is time to go to the school bus!

The kids want to put the Christmas tree up this afternoon so I guess my sewing time is done for the day – how disappointing. i wanted to actually make something from start to finish in a day! Maybe tomorrow?

Honeymadeit thankyou! There is a nice little collection happening but it isn’t quite done yet. I have five items to sew up and only six 0-3 month tags left!! I have ordered more so that I can add them onto garments that won’t get one straight away. It will help when sleep deprived and trying to dress a wee one.

Yesterday I got going on the latest bubble dress. It is so darling! But it isn’t quite ready for a photoshoot yet. I have to handstitching the lining down and do the buttonholes and buttons.

I now have the confidence of what to do with the little pink one I made ages ago. It needs some ribbon and I wasn’t quite sure how to best apply it. I now know!

So by the end of the weekend I hope to have three completed bubbles and then I can work on the final pieces so that I can get to make other things for baby before she arrives.

Tamara, she will have the most beautiful wardrobe!
I’ve been making some fabric butterfly ornaments to give as gifts. https://www.flickr.com/photos/73669617@N07/15929695546/in/pool-sewlisette
I’ve also been sewing another explorer vest is a beautifully plush burgundy courduroy. I just hope it’s masculine enough as I’m running out of Christmas sewing time!
