Stuck on the side panels (or what happens with the pocket opening?)

    Hi all,

I’m totally stuck with adding the side panels to the skirt. I’ve never sewn anything with a pocket before 😉

I’ve pinned (from the bottom up) the side panel to the front (right sides) together just up to the pocket opening and here I”m stuck. Do I continue to pin the side panel to the back edge of the pocket? Does that make sense?

It seems that if I do that then it looks like there is still an opening for the pocket. Is this right?

    Thanks!

Yes, the pocket will be sandwiched in between the side and the back.

I hope that helps, please come back if it does not.

Yeah, the pockets/panels on this skirt are done a little differently than I expected, and both times that I made the skirt I thought I knew what to do (and wound up unpicking). I don’t recall off the top of my head where you are in the directions but if you follow them even when they sound counterintuitive it will work out.
