Hello!

This is the first shirt I’ve made, and I’m having trouble understanding the pattern under the “Baste the front and back together”. I guess I don’t understand the picture and what I’m trying to accomplish. Should I have the wrong sides together at this point? I’m just basting the armholes, correct? Please HELP!!

You are putting the front and back together so you can set in the sleeves. Both pieces are wrong side down,you lay the top shoulder front piece over the back shoulder so it will look the same as finished.

If this was a basic t-shirt you would stitch them wrong sides together but this buttons to join them.

You need to baste them so you can attach the sleeve.
