    I think that happens Melanie.

We had the ANZAC service today, Hugo did the readings. I was very proud.

What a great lad he is.

We had a lovely time in San Francisco for our Spring break. Lots of eating, shopping, museums, family visits. My cousins even watched the kids one evening so Aaron & I could go out to dinner with our friends. At the same time, there’s nothing like your own sweet nest. Very nice to be home among familiar things.

So pleased you had a nice break, Sarvi. And I agree about returning; one’s own bed is always heaven no matter how lovely the holiday. I had a great break in Melbourne over Easter with good friends, and their children. It’s been a year since I’ve been away from Adelaide, and although it was seriously hard work to finish sewing and pack, I know it was the effort. Hope everybody enjoyed whatever Easter brought you and your families.

PS: Congratulations, Nicole on your pregnancy. A Spring baby to sew for, yippee. Whatever sex, I’m sure it will be doted on by all.

I just got the call from the sewing machine shop that my coverstitch machine I ordered just before Easter is here and ready to be picked up!

    Yay! How exciting Heidi!

I finally went shopping and didn’t forget my purse this time! Yay! I chose my new spectacle frames today too and then bombarded the denim aisle at Spotlight. But crazy as I was, I picked up some hot pink denim for $2 a metre! Imogen would be stoked!

Yay for you Heidi! How exciting!

Well today I was told by my mom (we live with my parents for the time being) that my dad wants me to pack up my sewing machine because he does not like to look at it. First I laughed and then I growled….the sad part is she was being serious. : ( I told him he would be starting at some naked children this summer If I do.

Oh yah, it’s going no where!

Boo, Sharon!! I’ve been known to drag my machine outside on nice days. Maybe you can do that some?

Oh that is really supportive that is! Poor you Sharon!

I remember not so very long ago I would have to use the dining table to sew. Pack and unpack every jolly mealtime. I didn’t have parents getting grumpy with me as it was my own home but when I WAS at home I had to keep my sewing things in my bedroom or else there would be trouble.

I’m sure there is room for compromise somewhere in the equation.

Thank you ladies, I will not pack it up but it has been made clear to do it. I have a huge sewing list and I am feeling much better than I have in a very long time so sewing will happen! The two younger kids really need some new clothes seeing the have grown taller. My mom loves to sew too but she put her sewing machine up and keeps it there so I guess he thinks I will do the same. Fat chance of that! I can’t wait until we get our own place again. Thanks for “listening” It has been so aggravating lately. I think I need a vacation. ; )

I’m glad you’re sticking up for your sewing, Sharon! It can be difficult to negotiate, so good for you. Looking at a sewing machine never killed anybody.

Sharon, I can only imagine how aggravating it would be to live with my parents……even tho’ I love them dearly.

Only having my parents for the three days over Easter was enough! And they stayed in my sewing room! Maybe that was the reason? No! I had nothing but complaints and for some reason there was no right to be done! So I am sympathetic to your plight Sharon! How long until your own home comes into fruition? Fingers crossed the perfect nest pops up for you soon.

I’ve learned to take my machine out of my sewing room when guests come to stay. 🙂 I’ve also purposely signed up for a quilting class when my in-laws came to stay for a week. I got to sew for a whole evening and I think it was the perfect break for everyone.
