I am making some lazy day skirts for a friend with 3 girls –> 18 months, 4, and 7. I can wing the younger 2 girls since I have kids about the same ages, but I am not sure on the 7 year old. What length should I do for a 7 year old?

I would go 15″ to 18″ depending on if she is average or tall. Don’t forget she will grow! Have fun.

I just made a skirt for my 7 year old and made it 19″. That includes hem and waistband. I think Heidi’s range is spot on.

I am making a 15″ one for my 42″ tall 4-year-old. It will hit a couple inches below the knee and I think that is a cute length for the skirt (which also looks cute to just above the knee; I think shorter than that is too short for this style). So for a 7-year-old, assuming average height I think I’d not go less than 16″.
