    HELP!

All opinions and ideas gratefully accepted and welcomed, don’t be shy!

    Man me up!

Jed’s new shirt is looking a bit pretty.

    Do I…..

Add neck tape like this https://www.flickr.com/photos/motherof5/14354465323/ and navy or white rubber buttons?

Do I use MOP buttons and embrace the soft look?

Do I reverse the MOP buttons and use the shell (brown) side?

    Do I use navy/dark buttons?

Thank you Oh Awesome Brains Trust!

Folks, question about the Fairy Tale dress — I’m making it with a white bodice and black skirt, for a music recital. It’ll be very hot so I am making it sleeveless, but what about just a little flutter of white lace at the top edge of shoulder? I have just enough left from a lovely piece of crocheted lace from the wonderful Nicole to add a little extra texture there. The lace is not very wide, perhaps an inch, and looks more heirloomy/shawl-y than lingerieish. If I can find my camera I’ll post a photo! I’d be lightly handstitching the lace on for just the performance as I don’t think it would wash/press well.

    Sounds divine!

Firstly, can I send you some more?

If it is cotton lace (I cannot remember) it may wash up quite well.

    Photos please!

Sounds like a good idea. I imagine some shoulder embellishment will help lift your eyes from what might otherwise be a bit bottom heavy.

Alternately I’d love some medium grey lace as a belt between the white and black. But you’d need a lot more for that.

Lace flutter sleeves sound lovely and light!

Sorry, I wrote that pretty badly, it’s the rest of the dress that I think I might have to dry clean — the lace I have used before on a linen and cotton bubble dress and it indeed washed and press beautifully. I would love more but I don’t want to be greedy. (I AM greedy, I just don’t WANT to be greedy!)

A pretty grey lace belt would be wonderful! Apparently our violin teacher’s own son was reprimanded for having dark navy (rather than black) socks so I will play it by the rules for the moment, but no reason I couldn’t add the lace belt after the recital.

I will be sure to post photos!

Happy to post some more, just remind me which it was.
