If all else fails… a glue-stick and a pair of scissors works for me!

When it dries, it can be folded up like a regular pattern sheet.

Why does it have to be complicated? I print my pattern pieces at home on my silly little ink jet printer, then tape and cut. Taping isn’t my favorite, but once it’s done I’m on my way with very little time lost.

Did it get heated? I hadn’t noticed. The PDF vs paper issue has been pretty thoroughly gone over, already. I can try to dig up the thread(s) for you if you like, mlinton, though I don’t recall off the top of my head which of the subfora it was in. Hopefully one of the various suggestions here will help ease some of the inconvenience for those who prefer paper! Good luck!

sahmcolorado, thanks for the software and printing suggestions. I’ve now got a PDF ready to print and found a shop that will do it for about $2 a pattern. Who knew? I always assumed these shops would only take big orders but the one I called in Utah was very helpful.

That’s a great price! Maybe we could share the shops we use in our cities in case other sewists need a recommended source. I use these folks, BP Digital in Santa Monica: http://local.yahoo.com/info-36129565-bp-digital-santa-monica

    Very nice people.

No I don’t think it’s heated or anything. Just that computer difficulties are up there with kids who won’t eat for life’s most infuriating situations. I am one of those people who simply can’t tolerate unnecessarily complicated things. My goal is always to streamline and simplify in everything that I do. I would just like to have one nice, clean, simple, easy piece of paper to work with. I’m kinda over the endless cutting and pasting of multiple sheets. It seemed like such a great idea when .Oliver and S thought to put that one page layout option in their digital patterns! I’m disappointed that it doesn’t work – at least not easily or without great effort.

It would be nice to share all options for digital printing that have worked for people. It’s useful to know to use an architectural print shop and useful to know about the PDF split. Probably I will turn all this over to hubby who has a higher frustration threshold for computers than I do!

Delegating tasks to tech support is my fave method too 🙂 Be sure to post any brainwaves of his that might be useful!
