Back keyhole opening issue

    Hoping for some advice on this one! I made the dress per pattern instructions, including sewing the “V” and then clipping down to (but not thru) the stitches and then turning to the right side and pressing. All looked great until my daughter wore it, and as toddlers do, promptly got it dirty :P. After washing I was dismayed to see that the clipped seam allowances at the bottom of the “V” had unraveled thru the stitches. I am going to hand stitch the unraveled edges as invisibly as I can to fix it, but am hoping for some advice on what I can do next time to prevent this from happening. It’s such a sweet dress and I’d love to make more, but since I have a toddler I need clothes that are durable to withstand frequent laundering!
