Hi Mia,
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a bubble dress (so cute!) but ni, there aren’t any exposed seams.
You create the outer bodice, then a similar bodice lining, then sew them together all around the neckline and armholes.
It’s a lovely clean finish.
You can look ahead in the pattern instructions to see how it will come together or just…[Read more] -

When sewing (step #11)the under arm seam, bodice to the back, will there be an open unlined seam here? I hope this makes sense. Thank you in advance.

Hi Carol (@psgfinn)
Many of the patterns, including the Geneva blouse (your query is in that sub forum) include different pattern pieces for different cup sizes.
Liesl explains in this post how to choose your correct size:
In short: go with high bust size then…[Read more] -

There are so many places now! I wrote a blog post a long time ago and I’m sure it needs to updated, but this might give you a place to start?

Yes, you’ll do the same with the facing.
You’ll definitely want to trim some of the bulk from the neckline as you go, yes. That’s where the basting stitches come in handy, to help you line up everything to the point of the V neck.

That seems like sound advice. Maybe try an all-purpose needle or even a ballpoint needle?

I wondered if the needle might be too sharp for this fabric. I bought some universal 65/9 needles. After a search I finally found someone else who had had this problem on Reddit. A commenter suggested lengthening the stitch, as well. These two changes made a big difference, so I can proceed with my project. 👍🏾

Hello, I’m starting to sew on my Positano dress, using a rayon crepe. I bought some Microtex 70/10 needles, but my test seam shows mini-snags along the seam on the right side. Should I be using something else?

I love many of the patterns and would welcome the chance to return to sewing regularly if only I could find some decent fabric sources. JoAnn Fabrics fails to excite me….polar fleece anyone?! Likewise, many online companies are geared to the quilters. Can you suggest some retail fabric options for this eager, but frustrated sewer?
