Sew Alongs 10 years agoOur friend Sarvi is here to walk us through sewing the Tea Party Dress. This post originally appeared as part of the Size 5 Project.
This is intended as a two-day sew along. Let’s hand it over to Sarvi to start day 1.
Day 1
The Tea Party Dress is pretty straightforward in its construction. Unlike some of the harder patterns that are a bit t…[Read more]

Sew Alongs 10 years agoOur friend, Brittney, is here to walk us through how to sew the Puppet Show Shorts. This originally appeared on the blog as part of the Size 5 Project.
We all know how great Liesl’s instructions are. They are what taught me to sew, so we will be following them to the letter. Sometimes it helps to have photographs, though, and sew-alongs…[Read more]

I just finished my first Jelly Roll Race quilt top! 3 hours start to finish, including cutting 40 2.5″ fabric strips and the pressing at the end 🙂
Back to work tomorrow, I probably won’t get nearly as much sewing done during the week 🙁 -

Oh my great big post didn’t post!
I know it is early days Masha, but I am thrilled there has been such progress made! It may be a long road or a short one but whatever the length I hope it is a successful one in that he regains much (preferrably all) movement, enough to be able to feel healed. It can’t be easy, but aren’t these glimmers such…[Read more]

Oh yes! @sahmcolarado I did! Thankfully they had put it aside for me. And because there is still 30% off all dress fabrics at Spotlight, I “splurged” and bought a metre of purple double velvet! I’ll make something special but what I am currently unsure.
Kerrilyn, the music class shirt was for the baby but I will make a note of the pattern you…[Read more]

Masha, I have been thinking of you constantly since you posted your news. I am so glad there has been improvement and that you seem to have a really awesome network of support. It is probably for the best that Niko is having formula some of the time.
Of course like Janice has said in her post above, the success rate of recovery from strokes is…[Read more]

On phone please excuse grammar
As long as this does not leave the sleeve cap and under arm too tight

My kids are 6 and 4 and both their measurements fall into size 5. I had a muslin done (pic attached) and while the finished shirt is fine for casual wear, I need to make the body and sleeve a bit narrower as the shirts will be worn under suit jackets for a wedding. The shoulder fits them perfectly, just a bit too wide.
