Sewing for Yourself 4 years agoI could recommend you Brother sewing machine. It is great, I’ve been using it for some time, and had no problems with it, it costs no more than $200.

Hi Catherine,
I’m similar FB-UB as you. I have slim arms/shoulders. I did a size 8 D cup first time. It fits ok but I think I’ll do a 10 C cup with a bit of tinkering on the shoulders next time.
Hope this helps.

Lightning McStitch, thank you for pointing that out about the vest not closing. I went back to the instructions and looked at the pictures. You’re right. I’ll think about this some more.

I haven’t done it, but I have often wondered about just this.
The only thing you’d need to consider is whether you want it to close when worn on its own.
I’m not sure, from memory, if the front edges of the vest actually meet at centre front. If not, you might need to add some to the centre front and then maybe add a zipper and zip guard? -

Has anyone ever used the removeable lining vest (with or without sleeves) as a standalone light jacket on late spring/early fall days? Am about to make an upcycled school days jacket using my husband’s old wool coat for my 8 month old and am mindful of getting the most wear out of it for the work I put into it! We live in the Netherlands, which…[Read more]

Hi Everyone,
I purchased the Classic Shirt pattern today and I’m excited that it’s available in different cup sizes, however I’m at a loss as to how to choose the right size for my first muslin.
My upper bust is 37″, full bust is 40″, waist 34″, hips 43″.
According to the pattern chart, this means I’m a straight size 14. I’m assuming the…[Read more]

Yes, I think so! I haven’t tried it, but I think it could look very cool.
