I loved this top and see many more in my wardrobe. I mead a quick and dirty muslin out of some cheap broadcloth for size and possible alterations. I made the 20C. I think a good choice. I decided to drop the dart by 1 full inch. I also did a high stooped shoulder adjustment of about 3/4”. This was not difficult and I placed it in the middle of t…[Read more]

Liesl Gibson replied to the topic Cuffs flaring out? in the forum liesl + co: all day shirt 4 years ago
I would imagine it has to do with stretching the cuff, but it should return to the correct shape with a little steam and some coaxing!

Sure, I would imagine you could use the Classic Shirt or any of our other shirt/blouse patterns with a cuff and with a few adjustments you could have a more traditional cuff if you prefer.

Hello,
I’m looking for a quality, adjustable dress form (adult). I have looked online but most reviews read problems with sturdiness.
Can anyone recommend a sturdy, adjustable dress form? I make aprons as gifts for family and friends and the ‘one size fits most’ isn’t working. I would like to custom fit them and a dress form would help…[Read more]

I’ve made this once and love it and wear it often. However, I feel like my cuffs look a little scruffy. Mostly that’s my Sewing, but I wondered if I could substitute cuffs from one of the other patterns?

Hello,
Does anyone have any idea why the cuffs on this all day shirt sleeve are flaring out? I’ve double checked that the interfaced cuff is facing the outside. Did I stretch the facing too much? Is there anything I can do other than recut some cuffs and facings and redo it?Suggestions welcome!
Thanks,

Thanks so much Liesl! I’ll get her Grandma, who lives nearer, to do the measurements.

I would suggest taking her measurements and comparing them to our size chart–that’s always the best bet! You can even use our handy free measurement chart to help you!

Hi friends
My Niece is a size 6X/7 in store-bought clothes. She’s 5 years old. I want to make her the Popover dress, but not sure of the correct pattern sizing. Thanks for your help!

Thank you, Shelley! I’ll follow your advice and try a one leg-muslin on my flamingo…
I’ve seen the pics of the trousers you sewed for your son and they do not look as wide legged as I have seen in other pictures, you are right. May be it is the effect it makes in shorter kids, looking baggy over the feet. - Load More
