Kathy started the topic arm facing too short? in the forum liesl + co: breezy blouse 3 years ago
My arm facing pieces are about 2 inches too short for the the armscyes. I made minor alterations to the armscye, but nothing like 2 inches. The instructions don’t say anything about easing, so I was expecting a 1:1 fit.
Can anyone suggest where I’ve gone wrong? Many thanks!

I’m pleased to report that my blue tencel denim Fira dress is good to go!
I did the high round back and forward shoulder adjustments as suggested. I also pivotted the bust dart down by another 5/8″.
I made a muslin which was good except a few drag marks on the back which looked like the waist was too snug. I straightened the waist curve out by…[Read more]

cybele727 started the topic Proper Sizing for busty girl?? in the forum liesl + co: enmore halter dress + top 3 years ago
So looking at the enmore, the upper bust sizing puts me at a 10.
Full bust? 18. But no way am I that wide in the shoulders.
So the 10 would be the better fit.. except..
While tons of ease? How much is there for purposes of the more buxom of us?
Also my cup size is more an F/G than a D.
Do I need an FBA on the D cup shelf? Would that…[Read more]

Hello all – I have similar measurements. I’m wondering where the bust seam is supposed to sit for a larger cup size: across the apex or underneath? It’s hard to tell from the pattern photos.

Lightning McStitch replied to the topic Shortening to use pockets in the forum liesl + co: cappuccino dress + tunic 3 years ago
Hi Katie,
The front of the Cappuccino dress is a bit tricky as it’s made up of three pattern pieces.
Do you like the current fit and dress length but want to raise the pockets on the dress?
Or do you want to shorten the whole dress? Then the question becomes where? Through the body or at the hem or both?
Sliding the pockets up the dress…[Read more]

I made my first Cappuccino dress in rayon and I love it. Perfect for the climate I live in. It was my very first FBA and proud to say it worked. But…being only just 5ft and a short body, the pockets are very low and I can only just reach them with my fingers. I read that you need to fold over the pattern to shorten it, but I have no idea by how m…[Read more]

Thanks, Lyndsey!
I’ll alter the pattern pieces as P/P suggest and try a real muslin this time!I have one other question…
I assume that the tuck was just to establish the right place for the high round back adjustment? It certainly seemed to fix how the back neck sits. The high round back adjustment adds length to the upper back, which see…[Read more]

Hello from Australia! I am new here and about to begin my first Yanaka Jacket. I have purchased velvet upholstery fabric (maybe a little too daring for my first jacket?). It is beautiful fabric but unfortunately white on the inside. See here:…[Read more]

I read the section of the Palmer/Pletsch book you suggested. Thank you. It sure looks like it addresses the issue I’m seeing.
I tried pinning a 5/8″ tuck on the back yoke as you suggested. I tried a few locations, but the best is actually the first one I tried.I pinned a 5/8″ tuck folding on a line at the bone at the base of my neck. The line is…[Read more]
