So very excited. We sign on a city flat for our Biggies today.
We had always planned to send out chaps away for years 11+12 but our local school is just so excellent, there was no need. The money we have saved for fees has made a good deposit on the flat.It is very central and close to good public transport (and University)and a gym plus the…[Read more]

Thank you Nicole!

@sarvi , thank you!
I now have an outer shell finished and bits of lining sewn to vents and I just have to do fabric origami and put it all together.

I have not made this polo but I have made a lot of polos. 😉
I usually transfer the markings from the pattern front.PS Don’t forget to stay stitch the neck line, it can ver very useful for safe clipping when easing the collar in place.
Good luck!

I do, I use fold your own bulky towelling squares. 🙂
I simply size up, usually two sizes then when they are out of nappies, you have shorts waiting. -

I have a15 month in cloth diapers. I have made these shorts and the pull too low in the back. Otherwise fit good. Any suggestions? I’m about to make another pair that I just adjusted and added length to the top of the waist areas. Just wondered if anyone else sews for a cloth baby and had any suggestions.

I’m starting my first parachute polo. I should “transfer the placket markings to the wrong side of the shirt-front piece” now. Is there a template with those markings? Or are the markings just the dot and the line of the shirt front piece? I’ve done a couple od gallery tunics and I think I should have a template for the placket, but I can’t find…[Read more]

I have a toddler who would rather me just sit and devote my attention to her than anyone or thing else right now!
I completed the jeans – to her measurements but they turned out baggy so I purchased the jeans fit class on craftsy to help me out. I also purchased the Angela wolf jeans pattern to see if this one would fit her better. She loves…[Read more]

I just made Cashmerette’s new tee, the Concord. Yay I have a TNT pattern again and it only took minor, for me, flat pattern changes and the first one is wearable and will be a great addition to my wardrobe.
I’m also taking in a tshirt and dress, I’ve had to remove an inch from each seam, 6 inches in total. I’m so glad they were princess seamed,…[Read more] -

Thanks @dubhels2003 and @motherof5!
Can I add my dislike of sewing curtains too… We needed to blackout the curtains in the girls room last week as the light was keeping them both awake when it was bedtime. We bought some blackout lining and I just folded over the excess and clipped them onto the hooks with the curtains. No hems at all! Maybe…[Read more]

@Buratti made some good points. My youngest is not as easily amused as my older children were, so my sewing is back to only a couple of hours a day (but my house is sparkly and washing up to date as she likes to help with those)
I have a new ‘most difficult project’ a jacket I am making my son. I have already put in 9 hours and only 1/4 of the…[Read more]
