I’d second the Art Museum trousers idea, but…
You could almost certainly squeeze a City Stroll skirt onto a 1m cut of linen. Just sayin… It’s yours. 🙂 -

Can you do the gallery tunic in short sleeves? I live in a hot climate.

The Gallery Tunic is a perfect “fake” shirt. You get a collar and placket to work with, but it’s a really easy placket technique. There are no buttonholes and fitting is easy as it’s a loose fitting style with pleats front and back for extra ease.
I’m living in a dress I made recently from this pattern, so it’s was to wear too.

@enbee what about Art museum trousers? Because it is a wider fabric, you could easily get a pair of these from a yard.

Hello, I got my book today. I live a mere 3 hours from the distribution center, so it did not have far to travel.
I just did a quick peruse and wow… this is great!
This shows so much about lengthening, shortening and spreading. Changing silhouettes, finishes and details and pockets and so much more.
Sewists, Oh my! There is so much to…[Read more]

For him a sketchbook shirt! One yard will make a short sleeve up to a size three easily.

Since I mostly sew for my 2 year old son, I buy a lot of remnants, often without a purpose in mind. I picked up a full yard (54″ width) of 100% linen – relatively heavyweight, and black. Any suggestions about what to do with it, either for him or for me?

I highly recommend the everyday skirt for sure and the Cappacino tunic as well. I love how this top can be sewn in a knit as well besides a woven.

I’m glad you’re here, @melissamlb42! I’ll be curious to hear what other members of the forum have to say, but I’d probably steer you toward the Woodland Stroll Cape or the Weekend Getaway Blouse next. Both of them are quite simple and straightforward but will challenge your skills to develop a little bit. And I think they both have a certain…[Read more]

Hi there! I’m somewhat new – I made the lazy days skirt about 5 times about 5 years ago and a couple of Sis Boom patterns. I’m not super experienced but want to sew something for myself. What Liesl & Co pattern would you recommend? What was easiest for you? I’m looking at Every Day Skirt but would really like to learn to sew shirts, but they…[Read more]

I have finally finished my Ginger jeans and have cut out an Appleton top to hopefully wear tomorrow to try it out.
I am hoping the cone denim is in the mail tomorrow so I can get going on my second pair.
If not oh well it is a project for the weekend as term is ending and I have an extended school run to conduct on Friday.
I might, all things…[Read more]

Body measurements are the same as they are for all our patterns since we use a standard sizing method. So check any of your patterns, and the book will be the same.

Hi,
Is there a chart with imperial measurements for the sizes in the book? My daughter is right at the borderline of size 12 in most O+S and a size chart would help us decide if she would fit into the base garment. -

I hope it helps! Glad you’re here.
Also, can I just say how astonishing it is that we’re on page 400 of this thread, with nearly 6,000 comments? How wonderful that this community is so active!
