My husband works in Martin Place and I have been nagging him to go to the Lindt store for christmas supplies, so glad he didn’t have time.

I have just had a phone call from my son to tell me the women that was killed is his wife’s best friend. Its just so devastating, feel so sorry for all involved. I can’t stop shaking and I havent seen her…[Read more]

So awful, the first report I heard was that everybody was out, then the next report said two dead and more hospitalized. Just horrible.

  • the Woodland Stroll Cape would be such a quick and easy sew, but takes up a lot of fabric for the size I need. I’ve decided to bite the bullet and draft raglans based on the Nature Walk sleeve/bodice proportions, that I can get out of 1/2 yd or so of 60″ fabric… and think about wings! Maybe craft foam, reinforced with chenille stems?

It looks like just the black circles/ovals is vintage appliqued onto the top, and the base fabric is relatively normal medium-to heavy weight cream satin.

  • The Popover is the fastest sew ever, and a good showcase for gorgeous fabric. My favorite to sew is the Jump Rope, because I love plackets, but the Carousel would look gorgeous in linen.

Yesterday we went to church and the lesson was all about being in the moment and taking a pause and not letting the secular overtake the season. Then we rushed home so I could finish his holiday…[Read more]

We saw something of it on the news and I just asked my dad if it was still going and it is apparently. Not a good situation to be in. I’m praying for those caught up in it. Hopefully all will be well soon enough without anyone being harmed.

Difficult to determine the exact type of fabric but you’ll find something that looks similar in the bridal section of a fabric store.
A quick search say’s the dress designer is Christopher Lawrence and he found a vintage cut-out fabric (the circles) that he lay over the dress top and the hem section is airbrushed in a pattern he calls hidden…[Read more]

    How did it go Sarvi?

On a scarier note, I hope no one was caught up in the horrid situation in Sydney, AUS.
