I’ve gotten so that I really dread patterns not from the small group of ones with instructions I know I can trust. I’d rather alter (even significantly) a reliable pattern.
The clock is ticking on Christmas sewing over here too — sounds like many folks are in the same boat. I’ve got a set of handkerchiefs 100% finished. 2 Lullaby pants, a…[Read more]

Elsa’s corronation Cape is done! It looks great.
I’m onto Hermione’s Ball Dress. I’ve redrawn the bodice from the Garden PartTy. I removed the front gathers, straightened the side seams and added 4″ so it hits where she wants it. I’ve cut the back to add a shirred panel to facilitate dressing and fit.
Now to change the sleeves into short bell…[Read more] -

I ordered a clock (will be here Monday or Tuesday, I can hardly wait) and I found a book called “The Girl Who Got Out of Bed.” I’ve been trying the “Santa probably won’t stop at our house if he thinks you get out of bed,” but she’s not buying it. I will keep you all updated with any progress or where I am in hiding until she is older. 😉

Which pyjama or pajama (hello search engine!) pants are your favorites? I really like the cuff on Sleepover but feel like they use more fabric. Is this an optical illusion caused by the single pattern piece? Or is it a roomier cut?
Has anybody paired the Bedtime bottoms with the SLeepover top?

Another vote for a clock. The ones my girls have is called the Tot Clock and it is entirely too expensive but desperate, sleep-deprived parents will pay anything, right? My oldest girl did not start sleeping through the night routinely until she was nearly 4 and like you, we tried a lot of things. I did the “Mama is too tired” routine when she…[Read more]

Very Heath Robinson of me, but I would lay the Music Class front yoke over the Sleepover front. I would place tracing paper over that then re-draft the front with the centre front of then new pattern piece finishing the same width as the Sleepover.
Then I would re-draft the neck of the front facing to match the new neck line, but attach the…[Read more] -

Oh my, so cute!
I would use the Music Class collar and the top yoke to make to front.
Trixie is crying but I will come back and explain further -

@Nicole and any others, I am going for this look:
Could I do as you did above and maybe just square off the neckline a little more? (See how on your daughter’s shirt the ‘points’ are a little more rounded)?
I bought a big 4 pattern…[Read more]
