We all choose to do things in our own individual way Sarvi! They are necessary items that take five minutes to make so its not as if I am breaking any unwritten rule or anything. I’d rather be comfortable and not have unsightly wet patches on my clothes!
Besides, my baby is two weeks old and the last time I sewed was Boxing Day. And I consider…[Read more]

The sewing fairy whispered in my ear that people who’ve given birth are allowed to take more than a week off 🙂 The sewing machine won’t grow legs and walk off.

Aww @Deepa, you are a sweetheart!
Welcome @Rhythm, I get so excited to see new people post here. How wonderful to be able to spend such a lot of time with your daughter.

Hello everyone. Deepa, make that three members from India! I am a newbie sewist who fell in love with Oliver and s. I have a two year old daughter for whom I love to sew. About myself- I have a master’s degree in engineering in computer science and worked as a software developer for ten years. After my daughter was born, my husband and I took an…[Read more]

Thanks @beachmom.
@KarenK I had to be grateful also due to the realisation of my own mortality and fertility. No one wants to leave their babies behind and no one wants the decision to be made for them.
@cybele727 how did you work through it all? I mean I know that this nearly happened to me even though the doctor didn’t actually say but you can…[Read more]

Popped baby girl down for a sleep and managed to cut out a small supply of nursing pads. I managed to finish two pairs before she woke up! So nice against the skin and I can now get rid of the rediculous bought ones!
Phew! Home less than a week and back sewing! What an accomplishment.

@justsewit while my C-sections were not quite dramatic, I do know that I would not have survived my first without it, nor would he have.
I remember my complications with my second, hearing the doctor swear as she was ripping my scar tissue from bad healing with the first. Eventually I had a hysterectomy about 2 years after the last due to…[Read more]

Wish I could use the same die for both size snaps. The snaps are pretty cheap, but I would need a die set for each size. Sigh…so many things I want.

Nothing dramatic at all about feeling as though your child is a gift. Congrats, glad all is well now.
